외교, 국뽕 대신 현실을 봐야 할 때.. Diplomacy Needs Reality, Not Just Patriotism

“야, 요즘 미국이랑 중국 사이에 껴서 한국 진짜 피곤한 거 알지?”

"Hey, you know how Korea's stuck between the U.S. and China these days? It’s exhausting."

“그러니까. 진짜 외교 잘못하면 우리만 손해야. 한쪽만 편드는 게 능사는 아니잖아.”

"Exactly. One wrong move in diplomacy and we’re the ones who lose. Just siding with one power isn’t the answer."

MZ세대는 이제 단순한 ‘반미’나 ‘친중’ 같은 낡은 구호에 휘둘리지 않는다. 그들은 현실을 보고, 실리를 따진다.

The MZ generation isn’t swayed by outdated slogans like “anti-America” or “pro-China.” They look at the reality, and weigh the practical gains.

“국익에는 영원한 친구도, 영원한 적도 없다”는 말은 이제 더 이상 외교관들만 쓰는 말이 아니다.

The phrase “There are no eternal friends or enemies in national interest” isn’t just for diplomats anymore.

오히려 MZ는 외교를 이렇게 본다.

In fact, this is how MZs see diplomacy:

상황 보면서 유연하게 가야지.

지소미아 파기한다고 소리치더니 3개월 만에 ‘효력 정지’라는 말도 안 되는 방식으로 돌아선 정부.

The government that shouted about ending GSOMIA, only to quietly “suspend the termination” just three months later.

그건 ‘글로벌 호구’가 되는 지름길이었다.

That was the fastest way to become a “global pushover.”

이재명 정부는 다르게 가길 바란다.

We hope the Lee Jae-myung administration takes a different route.

5년 동안 어떤 외교 노선을 가더라도,

Whatever diplomatic direction it takes over the next five years—

‘죽창가’처럼 감정에 휘둘리는 길은 가지 않기를.

Let’s not walk the emotional, destructive path of the “Bamboo Spear” diplomacy.
