“요리만 잘하면 끝?”…동해시, 청년 사장 만들기 프로젝트 시작됐다

 요식업 창업을 꿈꾸는 동해 청년들에게 ‘실전형 창업 부트캠프’가 열린다.

 A hands-on startup bootcamp is opening for young people in Donghae dreaming of launching their own food business.

동해시는 청년 예비 창업가들의 안정적인 외식업 시장 진입을 돕기 위해 ‘청년요식업 창업프로그램’ 교육생을 모집한다고 밝혔다.

The city announced recruitment for the “Youth Food Business Startup Program,” designed to help young entrepreneurs successfully enter the restaurant industry.

이번 프로그램은 지역산업맞춤형 일자리창출 지원사업의 일환으로 추진되며, 지난해 큰 호응을 얻었던 ‘요리기능사 자격취득반’의 후속 심화 과정이다.

 The program is part of a regional job creation initiative and serves as an advanced follow-up course to last year’s popular culinary certification training class.

특히 단순 자격 취득을 넘어 실제 창업까지 연결되는 ‘현장형·실전형 교육’이라는 점에서 청년들의 관심이 집중되고 있다.

 Rather than stopping at certifications, the course focuses on real-world startup skills that can directly lead to opening an actual business.

교육 커리큘럼도 요즘 MZ세대 감성에 맞췄다.

 The curriculum is also designed with modern Gen Z and Millennial entrepreneurs in mind.

교육은 오는 5월 20일부터 29일까지 꿈빛마루도서관 3층 강당에서 진행되며, 동해시에 거주하는 18세~45세 청년이라면 누구나 신청 가능하다. 모집 인원은 총 20명이다.

 Classes will run from May 20 to May 29 at the 3rd-floor auditorium of Kkumbitmaru Library. Any Donghae resident aged 18 to 45 can apply, with only 20 participants being selected.

무엇보다 교육비와 교재비가 전액 무료라는 점이 눈길을 끈다.

One major highlight: both tuition and materials are completely free.

 여기서 끝이 아니다.

 And that’s not all.

이번 교육 수료생에게는 향후 추진 예정인 ‘청년 요식업 시설비 지원사업’ 신청 시 가점 혜택이 주어진다.

Graduates of the program will receive bonus points when applying for the upcoming Youth Restaurant Facility Support Project.

해당 지원사업은 심사를 통해 선정된 5개 업소에 최대 1,000만 원 규모의 시설비를 지원하는 사업으로, 간판·인테리어 등 실제 창업 비용 부담을 줄여줄 예정이다.

 Through the support project, five selected businesses may receive up to 10 million KRW for facility improvements such as signage and interior design, reducing the financial burden of launching a restaurant.

신청은 5월 15일 오후 6시까지 가능하며, 동해시청 홈페이지 ‘새소식’ 게시판을 참고해 이메일 또는 팩스로 접수하면 된다. 모집 미달 시 추가 접수도 진행될 예정이다.

 Applications are open until 6 PM on May 15 via email or fax through the “News” section of the Donghae City website. Additional recruitment may take place if spots remain open.

#임성빈 경제과장은 “전문적인 창업 교육과 실질적인 지원을 함께 제공해 청년들이 지역에서 안정적으로 성장할 수 있도록 돕겠다”고 말했다.

Lim Seong-bin, head of the Economic Affairs Division, said, “We aim to help young entrepreneurs settle and grow successfully in the region through practical education and real startup support.”
