Gangwon State Attracts Food Tech Firm “Soymaru”… KRW 4.2 Billion Investment, 32 Jobs Created

강원특별자치도가 식물성 단백 기반 푸드테크 기업 ㈜쏘이마루를 유치하며 미래산업 기반 강화에 나섰다.

Gangwon State has taken a step toward strengthening its future industry base by attracting Soymaru Co., a plant-based protein food tech company.

강원특별자치도는 4월 10일 오전 춘천시 및 ㈜쏘이마루와 총 42억 원 규모의 투자협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

On April 10, Gangwon State announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Chuncheon City and Soymaru Co. for an investment worth KRW 4.2 billion.

㈜쏘이마루는 2012년 설립된 식물성 단백 식품 전문기업으로, 두부 및 유사식품 제조를 기반으로 콩고기 등 대체식품을 생산하고 있다. 2025년 기준 약 39억 원의 매출을 기록하며 안정적인 성장세를 이어가고 있다.

Founded in 2012, Soymaru specializes in plant-based protein foods, producing meat alternatives such as soy-based products built on tofu and related manufacturing. As of 2025, the company recorded approximately KRW 3.9 billion in revenue, maintaining steady growth.

이번 협약에 따라 쏘이마루는 경기도 남양주에 위치한 본사와 공장을 춘천 남춘천산업단지로 이전하고, 총 42억 5천만 원을 투자해 4,768㎡ 부지에 2,755㎡ 규모의 생산시설을 구축할 계획이다.

Under the agreement, Soymaru will relocate its headquarters and manufacturing facilities from Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, to the Namchuncheon Industrial Complex in Chuncheon, investing KRW 4.25 billion to build a 2,755㎡ production facility on a 4,768㎡ site.

고용 측면에서도 기존 인력 16명을 포함해 총 32명 규모로 확대되며, 이 가운데 16명의 신규 일자리가 창출될 전망이다.

In terms of employment, the workforce is expected to expand to 32 employees, including 16 existing staff, creating 16 new jobs.

이번 투자는 식물성 단백 기반 푸드테크 산업으로, 강원특별자치도가 중점 육성 중인 ‘7대 미래산업’과 맞닿아 있다. 지역 산업구조 다변화와 지속 가능한 성장 기반 마련 측면에서도 의미가 크다.

This investment aligns with Gangwon State’s strategic focus on its “Seven Future Industries,” particularly in the plant-based protein food tech sector. It is also significant in diversifying the regional industrial structure and establishing a foundation for sustainable growth.

#김진태 강원특별자치도지사는 “도 7대 미래산업과 직결되는 사업인 만큼 크게 성장하길 기대한다”며 “기업이 안정적으로 정착하고 성장할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Governor Kim Jin-tae of Gangwon State stated, “As this project is directly linked to our seven key future industries, we expect it to grow significantly,” adding, “We will fully support the company to ensure stable settlement and sustainable growth.”
