강릉여고 신채윤, 전국 23명 ‘유관순 횃불상’ 쾌거…“독도 사랑으로 대한민국 빛냈다”

강릉여자고등학교(교장 주향숙)는 2학년 신채윤(18) 양이 대한민국 최고 권위의 여성 청소년상인 ‘제25회 유관순 횃불상’ 수상자로 최종 선정되어, 지난 4월 1일 독립기념관에서 열린 시상식에서 수상의 영예를 안았다고 밝혔다.

Gangneung Girls’ High School (Principal Joo Hyang-sook) announced that second-year student Shin Chaeyun (18) was selected as a recipient of the prestigious 25th Yu Gwan-sun Torch Award, one of Korea’s highest honors for female youth, and received the award at a ceremony held on April 1 at the Independence Hall of Korea.

충청남도와 유관순상위원회가 주관하는 ‘유관순 횃불상’은 유관순 열사의 애국애족 정신을 기리고, 진취적 사고와 실천력을 바탕으로 국가와 지역사회 발전에 기여한 여학생을 발굴·격려하기 위해 제정된 상이다. 올해는 전국 고등학생 및 청소년을 대상으로 엄격한 심사를 거쳐 총 23명이 선정됐다.

Hosted by Chungcheongnam-do and the Yu Gwan-sun Award Committee, the Yu Gwan-sun Torch Award was established to honor the patriotic spirit of independence activist Yu Gwan-sun and to recognize female students who contribute to society with progressive thinking and action. This year, a total of 23 students were selected nationwide through a rigorous screening process.

이번 수상의 주인공인 신채윤 양은 교내 역사 동아리 ‘담덕’ 회장으로 활동하며 올바른 역사관 정립과 나라 사랑 실천에 앞장서 왔다. 특히 ▲서대문형무소 역사관 탐방 등 자기주도적 역사 기행 기획 ▲교내 독도 사랑 주간 캠페인 추진 ▲역사 콘텐츠 제작 및 배포 등 창의적이고 주도적인 활동이 높은 평가를 받았다.

Shin Chaeyun, the award recipient, has taken a leading role as president of the school history club “Damdeok,” promoting a sound understanding of history and patriotism. She was highly recognized for her proactive initiatives, including organizing self-directed historical field trips such as visits to Seodaemun Prison History Hall, leading school-wide Dokdo awareness campaigns, and producing and distributing historical content.

#신채윤 양은 수상 소감을 통해 “역사 동아리 활동을 통해 우리 역사의 소중함을 알리는 과정이 매우 뜻깊었다”며 “강릉여고의 내실 있는 리더십 교육 덕분에 큰 상을 받게 되어 감사하며, 앞으로도 유관순 열사의 정신을 이어받아 사회를 밝히는 횃불 같은 존재가 되겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

In her acceptance speech, Shin stated, “It was deeply meaningful to share the value of our history through club activities. I am grateful to receive such a prestigious award thanks to the strong leadership education at my school. I will continue to carry on Yu Gwan-sun’s spirit and strive to become a torch that lights up our society.”
