교육활동보호를 위한 교육공동체 공동선언과 추모식 개최 “교육활동 침해로 인한 순직교사 사망 추모와 교육활동 보호에 대한 사회적 관심 및 실천 촉구”

강원특별자치도교육청(교육감 신경호)은 15일(월) 13시부터 14시까지 도교육청 내 희생순직교직원상 앞에서 ‘교육활동보호를 위한 교육공동체 공동선언문’을 낭독하고 교육활동 침해로 인해 순직한 교사를 추모하는 시간을 가졌다.

이번 자리는 교육활동 침해로 인한 순직교사의 안타까운 사망을 추모하고, 교육활동 보호에 대한 사회적 관심과 실천을 촉구하기 위해 마련되었으며, 신경호 교육감, 교원대표, 학교운영위원회대표, 학부모대표 등이 참석해 공동선언문을 낭독했다.

공동선언문에는 학생 존중과 스승 존경의 상호 존중적 학교문화 조성, 교원의 권익 보호와 지원 강화, 상호 신뢰와 존중의 교육활동보호 시스템 구축, 교육공동체 간 소통 강화, 예방활동과 교육력 회복 등의 내용이 담겼다. 특히 이번 선언문은 도교육청, 교원단체, 학부모 등 교육주체가 함께 작성하여 교육활동 보호에 대한 공동의 의지를 표명했다는 점에서 의미가 크다.

신경호 교육감은 “학교 교육활동을 보호하고, 교육활동 침해 예방 및 대응을 위해 현장 맞춤형 지원을 강화하겠다.”라며 “현장의 목소리에 더 귀를 기울여 교원들이 온전히 교육활동에 전념하고, 교육공동체가 함께하는 더 나은 학교문화가 조성될 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”라고 말했다.

On Monday, the 15th, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education (Superintendent Shin Kyung-ho) held a ceremony in front of the monument dedicated to the sacrificed and deceased educators. During this event, the "Joint Declaration for the Protection of Educational Activities" was read, and a memorial service was held for teachers who tragically passed away due to violations against educational activities.

This occasion was organized to commemorate the unfortunate deaths of teachers caused by violations of educational activities, and to call for societal interest and proactive measures to protect educational activities. Superintendent Shin Kyung-ho, representatives of the teaching staff, school management committee representatives, and parent representatives attended the event and read the joint declaration.

The declaration includes commitments to fostering a school culture of mutual respect between students and teachers, strengthening the protection and support of teachers' rights, establishing a trust-based educational activity protection system, enhancing communication among the educational community, and promoting preventive measures and recovery of educational effectiveness. The significance of this declaration is heightened by the fact that it was collaboratively drafted by key educational stakeholders, including the Office of Education, teacher organizations, and parent groups, showcasing a united commitment to protecting educational activities.

Superintendent Shin Kyung-ho stated, "We will strengthen tailored support to protect school educational activities and to prevent and respond to violations. By listening more to the voices from the field, we will strive to create a better school culture where teachers can fully dedicate themselves to educational activities and the educational community works together."

The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education, following the tragic teacher death incident last July due to educational activity violations, was the first among the nationwide education offices to establish and operate a memorial space. Additionally, comprehensive measures to protect educational activities have been implemented, including the introduction of a teacher safety number service, enhanced education on preventing educational activity violations, and expanded support for victimized teachers.
