동해시, 제26회 양성평등대회 개최

Donghae: A City Where Everyone Is Respected and Thrives Together

동해시가 주최하고 동해시여성단체협의회(회장 김행숙)가 주관한 제26회 동해시양성평등대회가 29일 동해문화예술회관에서 열렸다.

The 26th Donghae Gender Equality Convention was held on September 29 at the Donghae Culture and Arts Center. The event was hosted by Donghae City and organized by the Donghae Council of Women’s Organizations, chaired by Kim Haeng-suk.

이번 대회는 ‘서로가 존중하는 동해시, 함께하는 양성평등’을 주제로 열렸다. 김행숙 회장을 비롯한 여성단체협의회 회원 등 500여 명이 참석해 양성평등의 가치를 되새기고 실천 의지를 다졌다.

Under the theme “A Donghae Where We Respect One Another, Gender Equality We Build Together,” approximately 500 people, including Chair Kim Haeng-suk and members of the council, gathered to reaffirm the value of gender equality and their commitment to putting it into practice.

행사는 시민합창단의 축하 공연과 여성단체협의회 활동 영상 상영으로 시작됐다. 이어 여성단체장 입장, 21세기 남녀평등헌장 낭독, 유공자 시상, 시민장학금 전달, 축하 공연과 경품 추첨 등이 진행됐다.

The program opened with a performance by a citizens’ choir and a video highlighting the council’s activities. It continued with the entrance of women’s organization leaders, a reading of the 21st Century Charter for Gender Equality, an awards ceremony, the presentation of a citizen scholarship, performances and a prize drawing.

제20회 자랑스러운 동해여성상은 송정지구 도시재생주민협의체의 김상래 씨에게 돌아갔다. 이 상은 지역사회 발전과 여성의 자긍심을 높이는 데 헌신한 사람에게 수여된다.

Kim Sang-rae of the Songjeong District Urban Regeneration Residents’ Council received the 20th Proud Donghae Woman Award, which recognizes contributions to the local community and to women’s pride and empowerment.

양성평등 문화 확산에 기여한 유공자와 이임 회장에게는 표창장과 감사장이 수여됐다. 지역 인재 육성을 위한 동해시민장학금도 전달됐다.

Commendations and letters of appreciation were presented to people who contributed to a culture of gender equality and to outgoing chairs. A Donghae citizen scholarship was also awarded to support local students.

동해시장은 “양성평등은 여성과 남성이 서로의 권리와 가치를 존중하며 함께 만들어가는 것”이라며 “시민 모두가 서로를 존중하고 함께 행복할 수 있는 도시를 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

“Gender equality is something women and men build together by respecting one another’s rights and worth,” the mayor of Donghae said. “We will do our utmost to make Donghae a city where all residents respect one another and can thrive together.”
