보고, 먹고, 즐기는 ‘Together 삼토!’…2026 원주 삼토페스티벌 개최

흙을 뜻하는 한자 토(土)가 세 번 겹치는 ‘삼토(三土)’의 의미를 되새기는 ‘2026 농업인의 날 삼토페스티벌’이 오는 9월 11일부터 13일까지 사흘간 원주종합운동장 일원에서 열린다.

The 2026 Farmers’ Day Samto Festival, celebrating the meaning of “Samto”—three repetitions of the Chinese character for earth or soil (土)—will take place for three days from September 11 to 13 around the Wonju Sports Complex.

농업인의 날 발상지인 원주에서 열리는 삼토페스티벌은 농업인의 노고를 격려하고 농업과 농촌의 가치를 시민들과 공유하기 위해 마련됐다.

Held in Wonju, the birthplace of Korea’s Farmers’ Day, the Samto Festival recognizes farmers’ hard work while sharing the importance of agriculture and rural communities with the public.

올해도 농업인과 도시민이 함께 어울릴 수 있는 다채로운 공연과 체험, 나눔 프로그램을 통해 도농 화합의 장을 선보인다.

This year’s festival will once again offer a wide variety of performances, activities and sharing events designed to bring farmers and city residents together.

남녀노소 함께 즐기는 참여형 프로그램

Interactive Programs for Visitors of All Ages

축제 기간에는 삼토시니어모델 선발대회와 청소년 ‘끼’ 자랑 경진대회, 삼토노래자랑, ‘삼토누구나’ 이벤트 게임, 삼토쿠킹클래스 등 남녀노소 누구나 참여하고 즐길 수 있는 프로그램이 진행된다.

Programs include the Samto Senior Model Contest, a youth talent competition, the Samto Singing Contest, “Samto for Everyone” games and Samto cooking classes, offering entertainment and participation opportunities for visitors of all ages.

저녁에는 삼토노래자랑과 삼토콘서트 등 다양한 공연이 이어져 축제의 열기를 한층 끌어올릴 예정이다.

In the evenings, performances including the Samto Singing Contest and Samto Concert will add energy and excitement to the festivities.

111.1m 가래떡과 가마솥 밥…

Sharing a 111.1-Meter Garaetteok and Cauldron-Cooked Rice

특이번 축제에서는 원 특히 원주의 대표 쌀인 ‘토토미’로 만든 길이 111.1m의 가래떡을 시민들과 함께 나누는 특별한 행사가 열린다.

One of the festival’s highlights will be the sharing of a 111.1-meter-long garaetteok, a traditional cylindrical rice cake made with “Totomi,” Wonju’s signature locally grown rice.

가마솥으로 지은 밥과 떡메로 직접 만든 인절미를 나누는 행사도 마련돼 농업이 선사하는 풍요로움과 공동체 나눔의 의미를 함께 느낄 수 있다.

Visitors can also share rice cooked in a traditional iron cauldron and injeolmi rice cakes made through traditional rice-cake pounding, celebrating both the abundance of agriculture and the spirit of community.

세대가 함께 만나는 전통 농경문화

Traditional Farming Culture Across Generations

연자방아 돌리기와 ‘토토미 사랑의 씨앗 모으기’, 허수아비 만들기 등 전통 농경문화를 직접 경험할 수 있는 참여형 프로그램도 운영된다.

Hands-on programs will allow visitors to experience traditional farming culture through activities such as turning a traditional millstone, collecting “Totomi Seeds of Love” and making scarecrows.

어린이부터 어르신까지 여러 세대가 함께 참여해 옛 농촌의 생활과 문화를 배우고 특별한 추억을 만들 수 있도록 구성했다.

The activities are designed to bring children, parents and older generations together to learn about traditional rural life and create memorable experiences.

가족 방문객 위한 체험공간 확대

Expanded Activity Areas for Families

올해는 가족 단위 방문객을 위한 농업인 라운지와 어린이 체험공간을 한층 강화했다.

This year, the festival has expanded its farmers’ lounge and children’s activity areas to better accommodate families.

가상현실(VR) 체험과 미니 동물농장, 모래놀이터, 전통놀이 체험 등 어린이들이 즐길 수 있는 다양한 프로그램이 마련된다.

Children can enjoy a range of activities, including virtual reality experiences, a mini animal farm, a sand playground and traditional Korean games.

농산물 알뜰경매와 삼토페스티벌 캐릭터 ‘힘찬이’를 빚어 농산물과 교환하는 행사 등 재미와 농업의 가치를 함께 담은 참여 프로그램도 운영된다.

Additional interactive events include an affordable agricultural produce auction and an activity in which visitors create the festival’s character, “Himchani,” and exchange it for local agricultural products.

농업인의 날 역사와 원주 농업의 미래 조명

Highlighting the History of Farmers’ Day and the Future of Wonju Agriculture

주제관에서는 농업인의 날이 원주에서 시작된 역사와 의미를 소개하고, 원주 농업이 나아갈 미래 비전을 보여주는 전시를 선보인다.

The theme pavilion will introduce the history and significance of Farmers’ Day, which originated in Wonju, while presenting a forward-looking vision for the city’s agricultural sector.

농작업 안전 관련 전시와 함께 지역 농특산물을 활용한 가공식품, 나비와 꿀벌을 비롯한 다양한 곤충 전시도 만나볼 수 있다.

The pavilion will also feature exhibitions on agricultural workplace safety, processed foods made from local agricultural specialties and insects such as butterflies and honeybees.

이번 삼토페스티벌은 농업인의 날 발상지인 원주의 역사적 의미를 되새기고, 농업인과 시민이 함께 어울리며 농업과 농촌의 가치를 공유하는 도농 상생의 장이 될 것으로 기대된다.

The festival is expected to reaffirm Wonju’s historical significance as the birthplace of Farmers’ Day and provide a venue where farmers and residents can celebrate the value of agriculture and rural communities together.
