동해시, 루미큐브 대회에 150명 참여

올해로 4회째… 지역사회보장협의체 아동·청소년분과 기획, 4개 부문에서 16명 입상

Fourth annual tournament organized by the Children and Youth Division of the Community Social Security Council, with 16 winners across four categories

동해시지역사회보장협의체가 주관한 ‘제4회 동해시 루미큐브 대회’에 아동·청소년과 지역주민 등 150명이 참여했다.

A total of 150 people, including children, teenagers and local residents, participated in the fourth Donghae City Rummikub Tournament, hosted by the Donghae City Community Social Security Council.

루미큐브는 숫자 타일을 규칙에 따라 조합하며 전략을 겨루는 보드게임으로, 이번 대회는 놀이를 통해 아동·청소년의 논리적 사고와 집중력을 높이고 또래·가족 간 자연스러운 소통 기회를 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.

 Rummikub is a strategy board game in which players arrange numbered tiles according to specific rules. The tournament was designed to help children and teenagers develop logical thinking and concentration through play while creating natural opportunities for communication with peers and family members.

동해시는 이러한 게임의 특성을 아동·청소년의 건전한 여가활동과 접목해 지난 4년간 대회를 이어오고 있다. 올해는 초등 저학년부와 고학년부, 중등부, 고등·일반부 등 4개 부문으로 운영했으며, 예선과 본선 토너먼트를 거쳐 총 16명이 입상했다.

 Donghae City has held the tournament for the past four years, incorporating the game’s educational qualities into healthy recreational activities for children and teenagers. This year’s event featured four divisions: lower elementary, upper elementary, middle school, and high school and general participants. A total of 16 contestants received awards after advancing through the preliminary and final tournament rounds.

특히 이번 대회는 동해시지역사회보장협의체 아동·청소년분과와 동해교육지원청이 함께 기획한 사업으로, 지역 내 복지·교육기관이 아동·청소년에게 필요한 프로그램을 직접 발굴하고 실행하는 협력사업이라는 데 의미가 있다.

 The tournament was jointly planned by the Children and Youth Division of the Donghae City Community Social Security Council and the Donghae Office of Education. It is particularly meaningful as a collaborative initiative through which local welfare and educational institutions identify and implement programs tailored to the needs of children and teenagers.

#김성래 복지과장은 “4년째 이어지는 루미큐브 대회가 단순한 게임을 넘어 아이들이 즐겁게 사고하고 또래와 소통하는 참여 프로그램으로 자리 잡고 있다”며 “앞으로도 교육·복지기관과 협력해 아동·청소년이 체감할 수 있는 프로그램을 지속적으로 발굴하겠다”고 말했다.

 “Now in its fourth year, the Rummikub tournament has developed beyond a simple game into an engaging program where children can think creatively, have fun and communicate with their peers,” said Kim Seong-rae, Director of the Welfare Division. “We will continue working with educational and welfare institutions to develop practical programs that children and teenagers can genuinely enjoy and benefit from.”
