동해시, 어르신병원동행서비스 확대

병원 진료부터 일상 외출까지… 든든한 동행으로 어르신 삶의 질 높인다

동해시는 병원 진료는 물론 관공서 방문, 장보기, 은행 업무 등 일상생활 외출까지 함께하는 「어르신병원동행서비스」를 운영하며 어르신들의 안전한 이동과 생활 편의를 지원하고 있다.

Donghae City is operating its "Senior Hospital Companion Service," providing assistance not only for hospital visits but also for daily outings such as visits to government offices, grocery shopping, and banking. The service helps ensure safe mobility and greater convenience for older adults.

어르신병원동행서비스는 병원 이용 시 접수와 수납, 진료실 이동, 처방약 수령 등 진료 전 과정을 함께하며 보호자의 역할을 수행하는 맞춤형 서비스다. 병원 진료 외에도 관공서 방문, 장보기, 은행 업무 등 일상생활 외출을 지원해 보호자가 없는 어르신들의 불편을 덜어주고 있다.

The Senior Hospital Companion Service is a personalized care program in which trained companions assist older adults throughout the entire hospital visit, including registration, payment, moving between departments, and collecting prescribed medications, effectively serving as a caregiver. Beyond medical appointments, the service also supports daily activities such as visiting public offices, grocery shopping, and banking, helping seniors who do not have family members available to accompany them.

서비스 대상은 병원 이용이 필요한 65세 이상 재가노인이며, 이용료는 이용 시간에 따라 1천 원에서 5천 원이다. 서비스를 희망하는 어르신은 동해시재가노인통합지원센터에 전화하거나 방문해 예약 후 이용할 수 있다.

The service is available to community-dwelling residents aged 65 or older who need assistance with hospital visits. The fee ranges from KRW 1,000 to KRW 5,000 depending on the length of service. Seniors who wish to use the program can make a reservation by phone or in person through the Donghae City Integrated Home Care Support Center for Older Adults.

지난해에는 총 607명의 어르신이 서비스를 이용했으며, 동해시는 더 많은 어르신들이 필요한 시기에 서비스를 이용할 수 있도록 홍보를 강화하고, 안전한 외출과 생활 편의를 위한 맞춤형 돌봄서비스를 지속 확대해 나갈 계획이다.

Last year, a total of 607 seniors used the service. Donghae City plans to strengthen public awareness so that more older adults can access the program when needed and will continue expanding customized care services that promote safe outings and improve everyday quality of life.
