동해시 관광 캐릭터 ‘해별이와 친구들’, 대한민국 대표 공공 캐릭터에 도전!

동해시 대표 관광 캐릭터 ‘해별이와 친구들’이 「2026 대한민국 지자체·공공 캐릭터 페스티벌」 정부·지자체 부문 본선에 진출하며 대한민국 대표 공공 캐릭터에 도전합니다.

Donghae City's official tourism mascots, "Haebyeol-i & Friends," have advanced to the finals of the 2026 Korea Local Government & Public Character Festival in the Government & Local Government category, competing to become one of Korea's 대표 public characters.

최종 수상작은 전문가 심사와 대국민 온라인 투표를 합산해 선정됩니다. 온라인 투표는 8월 21일 오후 6시까지 페스티벌 홈페이지에서 진행되며, 누구나 하루 한 번 정부·지자체 부문에서 최대 2개 캐릭터에 투표할 수 있습니다.

The final winners will be selected based on a combination of expert evaluations and nationwide online voting. Voting is open until 6:00 p.m. on August 21 through the festival website, and everyone can vote once a day for up to two characters in the Government & Local Government category.

‘해별이와 친구들’은 동해시의 푸른 바다와 아름다운 관광 명소를 친근하게 표현한 관광 캐릭터입니다. 2023년 공개 이후 다양한 관광 홍보와 마케팅 활동에 활용되며 동해시의 매력을 널리 알리고 있습니다.

"Haebyeol-i & Friends" are tourism mascots inspired by Donghae City's blue sea and iconic attractions. Since their debut in 2023, they have been widely used in tourism promotion and marketing, helping introduce the city's unique charm to visitors.

특히 ‘글로벌 디자인 잇 어워드 2023’에서 산업통상자원부 장관상과 시각커뮤니케이션 디자인 부문 은상을 수상했으며, EBS 「딩동댕 유치원」에 출연해 도째비골 스카이밸리와 무릉별유천지 등 동해시 대표 관광지를 전국에 소개했습니다.

The mascots gained national recognition by winning the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award and the Silver Award in the Visual Communication Design category at the Global Design iT Award 2023. They also appeared on EBS's children's program Ding Dong Dang Kindergarten, introducing famous attractions such as Dottaebi Gol Sky Valley and Mureung Byeolyucheonji to audiences across Korea.
