동해시는 7월과 8월 성수기 동안 운영시간을 오후 7시 30분까지 연장합니다. 무더운 한낮을 피해 늦은 오후에도 여유롭게 동굴을 관람할 수 있어 더욱 특별한 여름 여행을 즐길 수 있습니다.

To improve visitor convenience during the peak summer season, Donghae City has extended the cave's operating hours until 7:30 PM throughout July and August, allowing guests to explore comfortably during the cooler evening hours.

A Natural Heritage Formed 400–500 Million Years Ago

천곡황금박쥐동굴은 전국에서 유일하게 도심에 위치한 천연 석회석 동굴입니다. 총 길이 1,510m(관람구간 810m)에 이르는 이 동굴은 한여름에도 시원한 온도를 유지해 자연이 만든 천연 에어컨이라 불립니다.

Cheongok Golden Bat Cave is Korea's only natural limestone cave located within a city. Stretching 1,510 meters in total, with 810 meters open to visitors, it maintains a cool temperature even during midsummer, earning the nickname "Nature's Air Conditioner."

The cave welcomed over 74,000 visitors this year, representing a 17.2% increase compared to the same period last year. It continues to grow in popularity as a destination combining family fun, education, and nature.

A Healthy Ecosystem Proven by the Return of the Golden Bat

2024년에는 천연기념물인 황금박쥐가 실제로 관찰되면서 동굴의 건강한 생태환경과 자연적 가치가 다시 한번 주목받았습니다.

In 2024, the nationally protected Golden Bat was observed inside the cave, highlighting the area's healthy ecosystem and outstanding ecological significance.

A New Night Tourism Attraction

현재 추진 중인 '도심 돌리네 달빛길' 조성사업은 오는 11월 완공을 목표로 하고 있으며, 아름다운 야간 경관과 휴식 공간을 더해 체류형 관광의 새로운 명소가 될 것으로 기대됩니다.
