동해시, 바가지요금 신고센터 운영·현장 캠페인 전개

본격적인 여름 휴가철을 맞아 동해시는 관광객들이 안심하고 찾을 수 있는 피서지 조성을 위해 7월부터 8월 31일까지 「바가지요금 신고센터」를 운영하는 등 여름철 피서지 물가안정 대책을 추진하고 있다고 밝혔다.

As the peak summer vacation season begins, Donghae City announced that it is implementing a comprehensive price stabilization plan for tourist destinations, including the operation of a Price Gouging Reporting Center from July through August 31, to ensure visitors can enjoy a safe and pleasant vacation.

시는 소비자단체 모니터링 요원을 활용해 「바가지요금 신고센터」를 상시 운영하며, 바가지요금 등 민원 발생 시 현장을 신속히 확인해 즉시 조치하는 등 소비자 피해 예방에 나서고 있다.

The city is operating the reporting center with the support of consumer organization monitors. Whenever complaints such as excessive pricing are received, officials promptly inspect the site and take immediate action to prevent consumer harm.

이와 함께 시는 오는 7월 29일 망상·어달·대진해수욕장 일원에서 경제과와 상인회, 유관기관 등 30여 명이 참여하는 「여름 휴가철 피서지 물가안정 캠페인」을 실시해 바가지요금 근절과 건전한 상거래 질서 확립에 나설 계획이다.

On July 29, approximately 30 participants from the city's Economic Affairs Division, local merchants' associations, and related organizations will conduct a Summer Vacation Price Stability Campaign at Mangsang, Eodal, and Daejin beaches. The campaign aims to eliminate price gouging and promote fair commercial practices.

참여자들은 홍보 어깨띠와 현수막을 활용해 관광객과 영업주를 대상으로 ▲바가지요금 근절 ▲가격표시제 준수 ▲메뉴판 가격 이행 ▲친절·청결 서비스 실천 ▲착한가격업소 이용 활성화와 더불어 ▲고유가 피해지원금 소비 촉진을 집중 홍보할 계획이다.

Campaign participants will use promotional banners and sashes to encourage both visitors and business owners to:

Prevent price gouging

Comply with price display regulations

Honor menu prices as displayed

Provide friendly and clean service

Support businesses offering fair prices

Promote the use of fuel-price support payments within local communities

또한 주요 숙박·외식업소를 방문해 가격표시제 및 원산지 표시 이행 여부를 확인하고, 예약 거부나 과다요금 요구 등 불공정 거래행위 예방을 위한 현장 계도 활동도 함께 실시한다.

The city will also visit major lodging and restaurant businesses to inspect compliance with price display and country-of-origin labeling regulations. On-site guidance will be provided to prevent unfair business practices such as reservation refusals and excessive charges.
