동해해수청, ‘2026년도 상반기 위험물 취급 종사자 간담회 개최

동해지방해양수산청(청장 박정인)은 7월 22일 오후 3시, 무역항 내 위험물의 안전한 관리를 위해 「2026년도 상반기 동해·묵호항 위험물 취급 종사자 간담회」를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

The Donghae Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries (Commissioner Park Jeong-in) announced that it held the "First-Half 2026 Meeting for Hazardous Materials Handlers at Donghae and Mukho Ports" at 3:00 p.m. on July 22 to strengthen the safe management of hazardous materials within the trade ports.

위험물 취급 종사자 간담회는 매년 상·하반기 두 차례 개최되며, 동해·묵호항 내 위험물 취급 종사자와 관계기관이 한자리에 모여 안전관리와 관련한 다양한 의견과 정보를 공유하는 소통의 장이다.

The meeting is held twice a year, in the first and second halves, serving as a communication platform where hazardous materials handlers and relevant organizations at Donghae and Mukho Ports exchange information, experiences, and ideas on safety management.

위험물은 화재·폭발의 위험이 있거나 인체 또는 해양환경에 피해를 줄 수 있는 물질을 의미한다. 동해·묵호항에서는 황산과 석유제품 등이 주로 취급되며, 2025년 기준 황산 14만 톤과 석유제품 84만 9천 톤이 반입·반출된 것으로 집계됐다.

Hazardous materials refer to substances that pose risks of fire or explosion or may cause harm to human health or the marine environment. At Donghae and Mukho Ports, sulfuric acid and petroleum products are among the primary hazardous cargoes. In 2025, approximately 140,000 tons of sulfuric acid and 849,000 tons of petroleum products were handled through the ports.

이번 간담회에는 대한송유관공사 강원지사를 비롯한 9개 업체가 참석해 무역항 위험물 중점관리 가이드라인을 공유하고, 위험물 사고 사례를 바탕으로 안전관리 강화 방안을 논의했다. 또한 공직사회와 민간이 함께 청렴문화 확산을 위한 청렴 캠페인도 실시했다.

Representatives from nine organizations, including the Gangwon Branch of Korea Pipeline Corporation, participated in the meeting. They reviewed key guidelines for hazardous materials management at trade ports, shared accident cases, and discussed measures to strengthen safety management. Participants also joined an integrity campaign to promote transparency and ethical practices in both the public and private sectors.

동해해수청 관계자는 “이번 간담회를 통해 위험물 취급 종사자들과 긴밀히 소통하고 협력하여 사고 없는 안전한 동해·묵호항을 만들어 나가겠다”고 말했다.

An official from the Donghae Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries stated, "Through this meeting, we will continue to communicate and cooperate closely with hazardous materials handlers to ensure that Donghae and Mukho Ports remain safe and free from accidents."
