동해시, 동해페이 발행 규모 1,000억 원으로 확대… 지역경제 활력 기대

동해시는 시민들의 높은 호응에 힘입어 지역사랑상품권인 동해페이의 하반기 발행 규모를 기존 700억 원에서 1,000억 원으로 확대한다고 밝혔다. 올해 상반기 발행액은 약 482억 원으로 당초 목표였던 350억 원을 약 38% 초과 달성하며 지역경제 활성화에 큰 역할을 했다.

Driven by strong public demand, Donghae City announced that it will increase the second-half issuance of its local currency, Donghae Pay, from KRW 70 billion to KRW 100 billion. During the first half of the year, approximately KRW 48.2 billion was issued, exceeding the original target of KRW 35 billion by about 38 percent, demonstrating its significant contribution to the local economy.

이번 확대는 하반기 경기 회복과 소비 활성화를 위해 추진된다. 특히 무릉제와 추석, 연말 등 소비가 집중되는 시기에 맞춰 안정적으로 인센티브를 지원해 시민들의 구매력을 높이고 지역 내 소비를 촉진할 계획이다.

The expansion aims to stimulate economic recovery and consumer spending during the second half of the year. Incentives will be provided steadily during major spending seasons such as the Mureung Festival, Chuseok holiday, and year-end, helping increase residents' purchasing power while encouraging local consumption.

동해시는 사업의 안정적인 운영과 조기 종료를 방지하기 위해 총 105억 원 규모의 예산을 확보했다. 이 가운데 국비 33억 원과 시비 72억 원이 투입되며, 추가 재원을 통해 시민들이 보다 안정적으로 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 지원할 계획이다.

To ensure the program operates smoothly and avoids an early suspension due to budget exhaustion, the city has secured a total budget of KRW 10.5 billion, including KRW 3.3 billion from the national government and KRW 7.2 billion from the city budget.

하반기 인센티브 지급률은 예산 집행 상황에 따라 탄력적으로 운영되며, 예산이 소진될 경우 조기 종료될 수 있다. 월 구매 한도는 기존과 동일하게 1인당 50만 원이며, 최대 10만 원의 인센티브를 받을 수 있어 명절과 연말 가계 부담을 줄이는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

The incentive rate for the second half will be adjusted flexibly depending on the available budget and may end early if funding is exhausted. The monthly purchase limit remains KRW 500,000 per person, allowing users to receive incentives of up to KRW 100,000, helping ease household expenses during holidays and the year-end season.

올해 상반기 동해페이를 통한 지역 소비 규모는 약 482억 원으로 집계됐다. 시는 발행 규모 확대를 통해 소상공인의 매출을 늘리고 지역경제의 선순환 구조를 더욱 강화할 것으로 기대하고 있다.

Local spending through Donghae Pay reached approximately KRW 48.2 billion during the first half of the year. The city expects the expanded issuance to increase sales for small businesses while creating a stronger cycle of local economic growth.
