강원특별자치도는 「제56회 강원특별자치도 공예품대전」 수상작을 7월 10일부터 12일까지 춘천문화원 의암전시실에서 전시한다.

Gangwon State is presenting the award-winning works from the 56th Gangwon State Craft Competition from July 10 to July 12 at the Uiam Exhibition Hall of the Chuncheon Cultural Center.

올해로 56회를 맞은 강원특별자치도 공예품대전은 예술성과 상품성을 겸비한 우수 공예품을 발굴하기 위해 마련된 대표 공예 행사다. 강원특별자치도가 주최하고 강원특별자치도공예협동조합이 주관하며, 올해는 40개 분야에서 총 198점의 작품이 출품되었다. 분야별 전문가 12명의 심사를 거쳐 대상을 포함한 총 25점의 우수작이 선정되었다.

Celebrating its 56th edition, the Gangwon State Craft Competition is one of the region's premier events dedicated to discovering outstanding handcrafted works that combine artistic excellence with commercial value. Organized by Gangwon State and hosted by the Gangwon State Craft Cooperative, this year's competition received 198 entries across 40 craft categories. After evaluation by a panel of 12 expert judges, 25 outstanding works, including the Grand Prize winner, were selected.

대상작 「숨은 별 찾기」(남숙현)는 전통 나주반을 현대적으로 재해석한 작품이다. 상판을 정사각형과 원형으로 구성하고 높이를 높여 현대적인 비례감을 살렸으며, 나전 기법으로 별을 표현했다. 차분한 색감의 사각 소반과 따뜻한 색감의 원형 소반이 서로 조화를 이루며 전통과 현대가 공존하는 아름다움을 보여준다.

The Grand Prize-winning work, "Finding Hidden Stars" by Nam Sook-hyun, offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Naju soban (Korean dining table). Featuring both square and round tabletops with a slightly elevated height, the design introduces modern proportions while preserving traditional craftsmanship. Delicate mother-of-pearl inlay depicts shimmering stars, creating a harmonious pair in which the square table conveys calm sophistication and the round table radiates warmth and graceful curves.

금상작 「연(蓮)향기」(금이경)는 동판을 단금기법으로 성형한 뒤 칠보유약 장식을 더해 연꽃의 맑고 청아한 아름다움을 섬세하게 표현했다. 전통 금속공예 기술과 현대적 감각이 조화를 이루는 작품으로 높은 평가를 받았다.

The **Gold Prize-winning work**, **"Fragrance of the Lotus"** by **Geum Yi-kyung**, was crafted by shaping copper plates using traditional metal-forming techniques and decorating them with colorful cloisonné enamel. The piece beautifully captures the purity and elegance of the lotus flower while showcasing a refined harmony between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary artistic expression.

이번 전시에는 다양한 소재와 기법으로 제작된 수상작들이 함께 소개된다. 작품들은 공예인의 창의성과 예술성뿐 아니라 실용성까지 담아내며 강원 공예문화의 현재와 미래를 보여준다.

The exhibition also features award-winning works created with a wide variety of materials and techniques. Together, they highlight not only the creativity and artistry of Gangwon's master craftspeople but also the practical value of contemporary craftsmanship, offering visitors a glimpse into the present and future of Gangwon's craft culture.

이번 공예품대전 수상작 25점은 오는 8월 충청남도 부여에서 개최되는 「2026 대한민국 공예품대전」 본선에 강원특별자치도 대표작으로 출전할 자격을 얻게 된다. 이번 전시는 지역 공예의 우수성을 전국에 알리는 소중한 출발점이 될 것으로 기대된다.

All **25 award-winning works** have earned the right to represent **Gangwon State** at the **2026 Korea Craft Competition**, scheduled to take place this August in **Buyeo, Chungcheongnam-do**. The exhibition is expected to serve as an important showcase, introducing the excellence of Gangwon craftsmanship to audiences across Korea.
