추억을 입고 떠나는 시간여행, 묵호가 다시 젊어졌다

 낡은 골목이 추억을 품고 다시 살아난다. 동해시 논골담길에 자리한 ‘묵호, 시간여행호’가 레트로 감성을 찾는 여행객들의 새로운 명소로 떠오르고 있다. 올해 상반기에만 약 700명이 방문하며 지난해 연간 방문객 600명을 넘어서는 성과를 기록해, 묵호만의 감성 관광 콘텐츠가 꾸준한 인기를 얻고 있음을 보여주고 있다.

An old hillside village has found new life through nostalgia. Located in Mukho's famous Nongoldam-gil, "Mukho Time Travel House" has become a favorite destination for visitors seeking authentic retro experiences. During the first half of 2026 alone, approximately 700 people visited the attraction, surpassing last year's total of 600 visitors and highlighting the growing appeal of Mukho's unique cultural tourism.

시간여행호는 단순한 전시공간이 아니다. 오래된 주택을 새롭게 단장한 이곳에서는 묵호항의 역사와 어업 문화를 담은 어구 전시를 비롯해 옛 교복 체험, 추억의 간식, 복고풍 뽑기 게임까지 다양한 프로그램을 즐길 수 있다. 과거의 시간을 현재의 여행으로 연결하는 특별한 공간이다.

The Time Travel House is far more than a museum. Renovated from a traditional hillside home, it offers visitors an immersive journey through Mukho's maritime heritage with historical fishing tools, vintage school uniform rentals, nostalgic snacks, and classic lucky-draw games. It transforms memories of the past into a living travel experience.

가장 인기 있는 프로그램은 단연 교복 체험이다. 관광객들은 교복을 입고 논골담길 벽화와 골목길을 배경으로 사진을 남기며 학창 시절의 추억을 되새긴다. 아이들은 부모 세대의 문화를 경험하고, 부모들은 어린 시절의 기억을 가족과 함께 공유하며 세대를 잇는 특별한 시간을 만들어 간다.

The vintage school uniform experience has become the attraction's signature highlight. Visitors stroll through the colorful murals and narrow alleys of Nongoldam-gil dressed in retro uniforms, creating memorable photographs while reliving youthful memories. Children discover their parents' generation, while adults revisit cherished moments from their school days, making the experience meaningful across generations.

시간여행호는 지역경제에도 새로운 활력을 불어넣고 있다. 관광기념품과 간식 판매가 꾸준히 늘어나고 있으며, 묵호항과 도째비골 스카이밸리, 묵호등대 등 인근 관광지와 자연스럽게 연결되면서 관광객들의 체류시간을 늘리고 지역 상권에도 긍정적인 효과를 만들어내고 있다.

The attraction is also contributing to the local economy. Sales of souvenirs and nostalgic treats continue to rise, while its convenient connection with Mukho Port, Dodaebigol Sky Valley, Mukho Lighthouse, and other nearby attractions encourages visitors to stay longer and explore more of the surrounding community.

동해시는 앞으로도 다양한 체험 콘텐츠를 확대하고 운영 환경을 지속적으로 개선해 논골담길을 중심으로 한 체류형 관광을 더욱 강화할 계획이다. 과거의 이야기를 오늘의 여행으로 이어주는 '묵호, 시간여행호'는 이제 단순한 관광지가 아니라, 세대를 연결하는 감성 문화공간으로 자리매김하고 있다.

The City of Donghae plans to expand interactive programs and continuously improve visitor facilities, strengthening Nongoldam-gil as a destination for immersive, stay-oriented tourism. More than just a tourist attraction, Mukho Time Travel House is evolving into a cultural space where history, nostalgia, and meaningful travel come together across generations.
