방송타고 다시 주목받는 묵호 바닷길 , 감성 러닝 명소로 확산

최근 방송 프로그램을 통해 소개된 동해시 묵호 일원의 해안 러닝 코스가 시민과 관광객들 사이에서 새로운 관심을 받고 있다. 바다와 골목, 그리고 시간이 머무는 풍경이 어우러진 이 길은 단순한 운동 코스를 넘어 하나의 감성 여행지로 주목받고 있다.

Recently featured on a television program, the coastal running route in Mukho, Donghae City, has begun attracting renewed attention from both locals and travelers. Blending the sea, winding alleys, and landscapes touched by time, the route is becoming more than a place to run—it is emerging as an emotional travel experience.

MBC 예능 프로그램 「나 혼자 산다」에서 방송인이 묵호 일대를 달리는 장면이 소개된 이후, 방송 속에서 일명 ‘고래런(Whale Run)’으로 불린 코스에 대한 문의가 이어지고 있다.

Following the broadcast of MBC's reality show *I Live Alone*, where a television personality was seen running through Mukho, inquiries about the route—affectionately nicknamed the “Whale Run”—have steadily increased.

해당 코스는 인공적으로 조성된 관광지가 아닌, 묵호가 오랜 시간 품어온 자연과 삶의 풍경을 그대로 느낄 수 있는 생활형 러닝 코스다. 푸른 동해바다와 항구의 정취, 오래된 골목길, 그리고 전망 명소들이 자연스럽게 이어진다.

Unlike purpose-built tourist attractions, this route offers an authentic glimpse into Mukho’s everyday beauty. The blue East Sea, harbor scenery, nostalgic alleyways, and panoramic viewpoints connect seamlessly, creating a running experience filled with character and charm.

특히 묵호는 과거 어촌과 항구의 기억을 간직한 공간에서 최근 걷기 여행과 감성 관광의 중심지로 변화하고 있다. 바다를 따라 걷고, 골목을 지나고, 전망대에 오르는 여정 자체가 여행의 목적이 되고 있다.

Mukho, once known primarily as a fishing and port town, is gradually transforming into a destination for slow travel and sentimental exploration. Walking beside the sea, passing through quiet alleys, and reaching scenic overlooks have become meaningful experiences in themselves.

동해시는 이번 방송을 계기로 시민 누구나 즐길 수 있는 걷기·러닝 문화를 확산하고, 묵호권 관광자원과 연계한 체류형 관광 활성화에 힘쓸 계획이다.

Donghae City plans to use this growing interest as an opportunity to promote a healthier walking and running culture while encouraging longer stays through tourism programs connected to Mukho’s diverse attractions.

Vice Mayor Kim Jeong-yoon stated, “Being featured on a nationally popular television program is a meaningful recognition of Donghae’s coastal beauty and urban charm. We will continue improving walking and running routes so that residents and visitors alike can enjoy them safely and comfortably.”

이어 “묵호의 진정한 매력은 만들어진 공간이 아니라 바다와 골목, 그리고 그곳에 살아온 사람들의 이야기에 있다”며 “이번 관심이 일회성 방문에 그치지 않고 동해를 천천히 즐기는 여행 문화로 이어지길 바란다”고 덧붙였다.

He added, “Mukho’s greatest charm lies not in what has been built, but in its sea, its alleys, and the stories of the people who have lived here. We hope this renewed attention will inspire visitors to slow down, stay longer, and experience Donghae more deeply.”
