라벤더 향기 따라, 바다와 하늘 사이를 걷다

여행은 때로 먼 곳으로 떠나는 것이 아니라, 잊고 있던 웃음을 다시 찾는 과정인지도 모른다. 강원 동해시에서는 올여름 특별한 여행이 시작된다. 경제적·사회적 이유로 여행의 기회를 충분히 누리지 못했던 이들에게 동해의 바다와 하늘, 꽃과 바람이 따뜻한 초대장을 건넨다.

Perhaps travel is not merely about going somewhere far away, but about rediscovering a smile that has long been forgotten. This summer, a special journey begins in Donghae, Gangwon Province. For those who have had limited opportunities to travel due to economic or social circumstances, the sea, sky, flowers, and breeze of Donghae offer a heartfelt invitation.

동해문화관광재단이 GKL사회공헌재단과 함께 추진하는 「2026 GKL과 함께하는 행복여행」은 단순한 관광 프로그램이 아니다. 여행을 통해 삶에 새로운 희망을 더하고, 소중한 추억을 선물하는 따뜻한 복지 프로젝트다.

The 2026 Happy Travel with GKL Program, organized by the Donghae Culture & Tourism Foundation in partnership with the GKL Social Contribution Foundation, is more than a tourism initiative. It is a meaningful welfare project designed to bring hope, healing, and unforgettable memories through travel.

참가자들은 푸른 동해바다가 한눈에 펼쳐지는 도째비골 해랑전망대와 스카이밸리를 찾아 하늘과 바다가 만나는 풍경을 감상하게 된다. 마치 프랑스 남부 프로방스의 여름 풍경처럼, 끝없이 펼쳐진 자연은 마음속 깊은 곳까지 평온함을 선물한다.

Participants will visit the Haerang Observatory and Sky Valley at Dodjebi Valley, where panoramic views of the East Sea stretch endlessly before them. Like a summer landscape in Provence, southern France, the scenery offers a sense of peace that reaches deep into the heart.

이어지는 여정은 보랏빛 향기로 물든 무릉별유천지로 향한다. 라벤더가 만개한 들판을 걷다 보면 바쁜 일상 속에서 잊고 지냈던 여유와 설렘이 되살아난다. 꽃은 말이 없지만, 가장 아름다운 위로를 건네는 존재임을 새삼 느끼게 된다.

The journey then continues to Mureung Byeolyucheonji, where fields of blooming lavender paint the landscape in shades of purple. Walking among the flowers, visitors rediscover moments of wonder and tranquility often lost in everyday life. Flowers speak no words, yet they offer one of life's most beautiful comforts.

추암촛대바위와 출렁다리에서는 동해의 거친 파도와 웅장한 해안 절경이 여행자들을 맞이한다. 바람에 흔들리는 다리 위에서 바라보는 수평선은 마치 새로운 미래를 향한 희망의 길처럼 펼쳐진다.

At Chuam's famous Candle Rock and Suspension Bridge, travelers are greeted by dramatic coastal cliffs and the powerful waves of the East Sea. Standing above the ocean, the endless horizon unfolds like a pathway leading toward new possibilities and brighter days ahead.

프랑스 철학자 알베르 카뮈는 “한겨울 속에서도 내 안에는 지지 않는 여름이 있었다”고 말했다. 이번 행복여행은 누군가의 마음속에 그 ‘지지 않는 여름’을 선물하는 시간이 될지도 모른다.

French philosopher Albert Camus once wrote, “In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.” This journey may become the moment when that invincible summer is rediscovered within each traveler.

동해의 바다, 라벤더 향기, 그리고 사람들의 따뜻한 마음이 만나 만들어내는 행복여행. 그것은 단순한 관광이 아니라, 삶을 조금 더 아름답게 만드는 여행의 본질에 대한 이야기다.
