초여름 햇살이 부드럽게 내려앉은 강릉의 어느 날, 강릉정보공업고등학교 조리제빵과 학생들은 특별한 여행을 떠났다. 교실을 벗어나 향긋한 빵 냄새가 가득한 현장으로, 그리고 꿈이 현실이 되는 공간으로 향했다.

On a gentle early summer day in Gangneung, students from the Culinary Baking Department of Gangneung Information Technical High School embarked on a special journey. Leaving their classrooms behind, they stepped into a world filled with the aroma of freshly baked bread—a place where dreams are transformed into reality.

그들이 찾은 곳은 강릉을 대표하는 베이커리 브랜드 ‘정남미명과’였다. 쌀과 지역 농산물로 만든 건강한 구황작물빵으로 전국적인 사랑을 받고 있으며, 이제는 K-디저트의 매력을 일본에까지 전하고 있는 지역의 자랑스러운 기업이다.

Their destination was Jeongnammi Bakery, one of Gangneung’s most beloved local brands. Known for its wholesome breads made from rice and regional agricultural products, the company has earned nationwide recognition and is now introducing the charm of K-desserts to customers in Japan.

전공심화동아리 ‘헨젤과 그레텔’ 학생 37명은 생산시설을 직접 둘러보며 빵이 만들어지는 과정을 눈앞에서 확인했다. 밀가루와 쌀가루가 반죽이 되고, 따뜻한 오븐 속에서 황금빛 빵으로 탄생하는 순간은 학생들에게 살아있는 교과서와 같았다.

Thirty-seven students from the advanced culinary club “Hansel and Gretel” toured the production facilities and witnessed every stage of the baking process. Watching flour and rice powder transform into golden loaves inside warm ovens felt like opening a living textbook filled with practical knowledge.

특히 학생들의 마음을 사로잡은 것은 유명 요리 프로그램 ‘천하제빵’ 출연 비하인드 스토리와 창업 과정에 대한 진솔한 이야기였다. 성공의 화려함보다 수많은 실패와 도전이 있었음을 들으며, 학생들은 꿈을 이루기 위한 용기와 끈기의 가치를 배웠다.

What captivated the students most were the behind-the-scenes stories from the popular culinary program *Master Baker of the Nation* and the honest journey of entrepreneurship. Beyond the glamour of success, they discovered the countless challenges and failures that had shaped the company’s path, learning the true value of courage and perseverance.

이번 견학에는 강원도립대학교 라이즈(RISE) 사업단의 지원도 더해졌다. 학생들은 현장 견학에 이어 맞춤형 창업 특강을 통해 지역 F&B 산업의 실무 노하우와 미래 가능성을 보다 깊이 이해할 수 있었다.

The experience was further enriched by the support of the RISE Project Team at Gangwon State University. Through a specialized entrepreneurship lecture, students gained deeper insight into the practical know-how and future opportunities within the regional food and beverage industry.

창밖으로 동해의 바람이 스쳐가는 오후, 학생들은 단순히 빵을 배우고 돌아온 것이 아니었다. 누군가는 미래의 파티시에를 꿈꾸었고, 누군가는 자신만의 브랜드를 상상했다. 그리고 또 누군가는 지역에서 시작해 세계로 나아가는 새로운 길을 발견했다.

As the sea breeze from the East Sea drifted past the windows that afternoon, the students returned with far more than baking knowledge. Some envisioned becoming future pâtissiers, others imagined launching their own brands, and many discovered a path that could lead from their hometown to the global stage.

좋은 빵은 단순히 맛으로 완성되지 않는다. 정성과 철학, 그리고 사람들의 이야기가 담길 때 비로소 특별해진다. 이날 학생들이 만난 정남미명과는 바로 그런 빵의 가치를 보여주는 아름다운 공간이었다.

Great bread is never defined by taste alone. It becomes extraordinary when it carries dedication, philosophy, and the stories of people behind it. On this day, Jeongnammi Bakery became a beautiful example of that very truth.

강릉의 작은 오븐에서 시작된 꿈은, 언젠가 세계인의 식탁 위에서 향기롭게 피어날 것이다.
