꿈을 담은 편지, 희망으로 답하다

어느 날 아이들은 작은 종이 한 장에 자신의 꿈을 적어 넣습니다. 누군가는 배우고 싶은 것을, 누군가는 꼭 갖고 싶었던 물건을, 또 다른 누군가는 더 나은 내일에 대한 소망을 담습니다. 그 편지는 단순한 신청서가 아니라, 세상을 향해 조심스럽게 내미는 작은 희망의 손길입니다.

One day, children write their dreams on a small piece of paper. Some share what they long to learn, others write about something they have always wished for, and some express their hopes for a brighter tomorrow. These letters are not merely applications; they are gentle hands of hope reaching out to the world.

동해시종합사회복지관의 「꿈이 샘솟는 우체통」은 그 손길에 따뜻한 답장을 보내는 특별한 우체통입니다. 아이들의 사연 하나하나를 소중히 읽고, 지역사회가 함께 마음을 모아 꿈을 현실로 이어주는 다리가 되어주고 있습니다.

The “Dreams Springing Mailbox” operated by Donghae City Comprehensive Social Welfare Center is a special mailbox that sends warm replies to those hopeful hands. By carefully listening to each story, the local community comes together to help transform dreams into reality.

올해 상반기에는 총 11개의 사연이 접수되었고, 그중 9개의 꿈이 선정되었습니다. 숫자로는 단순해 보일 수 있지만, 그 안에는 아홉 명의 아이들이 품고 있던 기대와 설렘, 그리고 새로운 가능성이 담겨 있습니다. 곧 전달될 지원 물품은 단순한 물건이 아니라 “너의 꿈을 응원한다”는 지역사회의 따뜻한 메시지입니다.

During the first half of this year, eleven stories were submitted, and nine dreams were selected. While the numbers may seem small, they represent the hopes, excitement, and new possibilities held by nine children. The support items they will receive are more than just gifts; they are heartfelt messages from the community saying, “We believe in your dreams.”

특히 한국동서발전 동해발전본부와 이마트 동해점, 그리고 복지관 후원이사회가 함께 힘을 보탠 이번 사업은 나눔이 얼마나 큰 변화를 만들 수 있는지를 보여줍니다. 누군가에게는 작은 후원이지만, 아이들에게는 세상을 향한 첫 번째 응원이자 평생 기억될 격려가 될 수 있습니다.

The participation of Korea East-West Power Donghae Power Headquarters, E-Mart Donghae Branch, and the Welfare Center’s Sponsorship Board demonstrates how collective generosity can create meaningful change. What may seem like a small contribution to some can become a child’s first encouragement and a lifelong source of inspiration.
