Smart Farming Testbed Scheduled to Launch in the Second Half of 2026

동해시는 초구동 110번지 일원에 총사업비 58억 원을 투입해 조성한 ‘과학영농종합단지’ 운영을 본격화하며 미래형 스마트농업 기반 구축에 속도를 내고 있다.

동해시 is accelerating the development of future-oriented smart agriculture infrastructure through the full-scale operation of its “Scientific Agriculture Complex,” established with a total investment of KRW 5.8 billion at Chogu-dong 110.

시는 2023년부터 사업을 추진해 왔으며, 과학영농시설과 유용미생물 배양시설은 지난해 7월부터 정상 운영되고 있다.

The city has promoted the project since 2023, and both the scientific agriculture facility and the beneficial microorganism cultivation facility have been operating normally since July last year.

특히 올해는 320㎡ 규모의 스마트농업 테스트베드(스마트온실) 내부 시설 설치를 상반기 내 완료하고, 하반기부터 본격 운영에 들어갈 계획이다.

In particular, the city plans to complete the installation of internal facilities for the 320㎡ smart farming testbed (smart greenhouse) within the first half of this year and begin full-scale operation in the second half.

과학영농시설에서는 토양 pH를 포함한 8개 항목에 대한 정밀 분석 서비스를 제공해 농업인의 적정 비료 사용을 지원하고 있다.

The scientific agriculture facility provides precise analysis services for eight soil-related indicators, including soil pH, helping farmers optimize fertilizer usage.

토양검정을 원하는 농업인은 토양 시료를 지참해 시설을 방문하면 무료로 검정 서비스를 받을 수 있으며, 이를 통해 지속 가능한 농업환경 조성에도 기여할 수 있다.

Farmers seeking soil analysis can visit the facility with soil samples and receive free testing services, contributing to the creation of a more sustainable agricultural environment.

유용미생물 배양시설에서는 고초균, 유산균, 광합성균, 효모균 등 4종의 유용미생물을 농업인들에게 무상 공급하고 있다.

The beneficial microorganism cultivation facility provides four types of beneficial microbes free of charge to local farmers, including Bacillus subtilis, lactic acid bacteria, photosynthetic bacteria, and yeast.

공급된 미생물은 토양 비옥도 향상과 병해충 예방은 물론 축산 악취 저감 등 농업·축산 분야 전반에 폭넓게 활용되고 있다.

These microorganisms are widely utilized across agricultural and livestock sectors for improving soil fertility, preventing pests and diseases, and reducing livestock odors.

이와 함께 동해시는 스마트농업 테스트베드 조성에도 박차를 가하고 있다. 지난해 온실 외부 설치를 완료했으며, 현재 토목·전기 공사와 내부 환경제어 시스템 구축이 진행 중이다.

At the same time, the city is speeding up the construction of the smart farming testbed. Exterior greenhouse installation was completed last year, while civil engineering, electrical work, and internal environmental control systems are currently under development.

시는 올해 하반기 스마트온실 조성을 마무리한 뒤 농업인 체험과 교육의 장으로 활용하고, 미래 농업기술 확산과 신소득 작목 육성을 위한 거점 시설로 운영할 방침이다.

Once completed in the second half of this year, the smart greenhouse will serve as a center for farmer education and hands-on experiences, while also functioning as a key hub for spreading future agricultural technologies and fostering new high-income crops.
