강원 수소산업의 심장, 동해·삼척에 들어선다

 강원특별자치도가 동해시와 삼척시 일원에 추진 중인 수소 저장·운송 클러스터 구축사업이 본격적인 공사 단계에 들어간다.

Gangwon State is moving its Hydrogen Storage and Transport Cluster Project in Donghae and Samcheok into the full construction phase.

도는 핵심 기반시설인 산업진흥센터, 안전성시험센터, 시스템실증센터의 설계를 완료했으며, 시공사 선정과 감리용역 계약이 마무리되는 대로 올해 6월 착공할 예정이다.

The province has completed the designs for three key facilities: the Industrial Promotion Center, Safety Testing Center and System Demonstration Center, with construction scheduled to begin in June 2026 once contractors and supervision services are finalized.

이 사업은 단순히 건물을 짓는 사업이 아니다. 수소 관련 기업들이 기술을 개발하고, 제품을 시험하며, 안전성을 검증하고, 시장에 진출할 수 있도록 돕는 수소산업 기반 조성 사업이다.

This is not just a construction project. It is an industrial foundation project designed to help hydrogen-related companies develop technologies, test products, verify safety and enter the market.

동해시 북평제2일반산업단지에는 2024년부터 2028년까지 총 668억 원이 투입돼 3개 동의 건축물과 38종의 설비·장비가 구축된다.

In Donghae’s Bukpyeong 2nd General Industrial Complex, KRW 66.8 billion will be invested from 2024 to 2028 to build three facilities and install 38 types of equipment.

전체 수소 저장·운송 클러스터 사업은 동해시와 삼척시 일원에서 추진되며, 총사업비는 3,177억 원 규모다.

The overall Hydrogen Storage and Transport Cluster Project will be carried out across Donghae and Samcheok, with a total project cost of KRW 317.7 billion.

시민 입장에서 보면, 이 사업은 강원 동해안이 앞으로 수소산업의 연구·시험·기업지원 중심지로 성장할 수 있는 기반을 만드는 일이다.

For local residents, this project means building the foundation for Gangwon’s east coast to grow into a center for hydrogen research, testing and business support.

특히 수소 저장·운송 분야는 수소경제의 핵심이다. 수소를 안전하게 저장하고, 효율적으로 운반하며, 실제 산업 현장에서 사용할 수 있도록 검증하는 기술이 매우 중요하기 때문이다.

강원특별자치도는 2028년까지 건축물 준공과 시운전을 마무리하고, 이후 기업 입주와 기술개발, 사업화 지원을 본격화할 계획이다.

Gangwon State plans to complete the buildings and test operations by 2028, then accelerate company relocation, technology development and commercialization support.

#김광래 강원특별자치도 경제부지사는 “수소 저장·운송 클러스터는 강원 수소산업의 핵심 기반”이라며 “시험·평가·실증 기능을 통해 기업과 연구기관의 참여를 확대하고 친환경 수소 생태계를 만들어가겠다”고 밝혔다.

Kim Gwang-rae, Economic Vice Governor of Gangwon State, said the cluster is a key foundation for Gangwon’s hydrogen industry and will help expand participation by companies and research institutions while building an eco-friendly hydrogen ecosystem.
