동해시가 최근 유가 급등과 물가 불안과 관련해 생활물가, 에너지, 지역 상권 등을 중심으로 대응 상황을 다시 점검하고 보완한다.

Donghae City is reinforcing and reviewing its response measures focused on consumer prices, energy, and local commercial districts amid recent spikes in fuel prices and inflation concerns.

우선 장바구니 물가와 직결되는 주요 생필품 가격 동향을 상시 점검하고, 필요 시 가격 정보를 공개하는 등 시장·상점가 중심의 현장 모니터링을 이어가고 있다.

 First, the city is continuously monitoring price trends of essential daily goods directly tied to household expenses and conducting on-site monitoring at markets and shopping districts, including the disclosure of pricing information when necessary.

또, 관내 주유소 판매가격과 유통질서를 점검하고, 공공부문 에너지 절약 실천과 시민 참여 캠페인을 통해 유가 상승이 교통비·난방비 등 생활비 전반으로 번지는 속도를 늦추겠다는 방침이다.

 The city is also inspecting fuel prices and distribution practices at local gas stations while promoting energy-saving measures in the public sector and citizen participation campaigns to slow the spread of rising fuel costs into transportation, heating, and other living expenses.

지역상권과 소상공인 부담을 덜기 위한 대응도 점검 대상에 포함됐다.

 Measures aimed at easing burdens on local businesses and small merchants are also included in the review process.

고유가·물가 상승 장기화 시 원가 상승과 소비 둔화가 겹칠 수 있다고 보고, 소상공인·자영업자 애로사항을 파악해 판로 지원과 경영 안정 대책, 취약계층 보호 조치 등을 연계해 나가기로 했다.

 The city noted that prolonged high fuel prices and inflation could lead to rising operating costs and weakened consumer spending simultaneously. In response, it plans to identify difficulties faced by small business owners and self-employed workers while linking support measures such as market expansion assistance, business stabilization programs, and protections for vulnerable groups.

앞서 동해시는 비상경제 태스크포스(TF)를 가동하고 물가안정 조치 등을 추진해 왔으며, 이번 현장 점검은 고유가 국면에 맞게 기존 대응을 보완하는 후속 조치라는 설명이다.

 Donghae City has previously operated an emergency economic task force (TF) and implemented price stabilization measures. Officials explained that this latest field inspection is a follow-up effort to strengthen existing responses tailored to the ongoing high fuel price situation.

시 관계자는 “고유가와 물가 상승이 동시에 이어질수록 시민이 느끼는 생활비 부담은 커질 수밖에 없다”며 “새로운 시책을 나열하기보다 실제 생활과 지역경제에 도움이 되는 부분을 중심으로 현장 점검과 보완을 계속하겠다”고 말했다.

 A city official stated, “As high fuel prices and inflation continue simultaneously, the burden of living expenses felt by citizens inevitably grows,” adding, “Rather than simply introducing new policies, we will continue practical field inspections and supplementary measures focused on areas that genuinely help daily life and the local economy.”
