“전국에서 몰려온다!” 동해시 640명 대형 관광객 행렬… ‘인센티브 관광’ 대박 터졌다

동해시가 본격적인 봄 나들이 철을 맞아 전국 각지에서 찾아오는 대규모 단체 관광객 방문으로 활기를 띠고 있다.

As the spring travel season begins in full swing, Donghae City is experiencing a surge in large-scale group tourists from across the country, bringing renewed vitality to the local tourism industry.

4월 4일과 19일, 충북 지역 새마을금고 회원 640여 명이 동해시를 방문해 주요 관광지를 둘러볼 예정이다.

On April 4 and 19, approximately 640 members of Saemaul Geumgo (community credit cooperatives) from Chungbuk Province are scheduled to visit Donghae and tour its major attractions.

먼저 4월 4일에는 충북 음성에서 316명이 동해시를 찾아 ▲도째비골 스카이밸리와 ▲전천강 벚꽃터널을 방문해 봄꽃이 어우러진 도심 속 힐링 산책을 즐겼다.

On April 4, 316 visitors from Eumseong, Chungbuk, visited Donghae, enjoying a healing walk amid spring blossoms at key attractions such as the Dottaebi Valley Sky Valley and the Jeoncheongang Cherry Blossom Tunnel.

이어 오는 4월 19일에는 증평에서 330명이 방문해 주요 관광지를 둘러볼 예정이다. 이번 방문은 기존 계획보다 인원이 추가된 것으로, 동해시에 대한 관광 수요 증가를 보여주고 있다.

On April 19, another group of 330 visitors from Jeungpyeong is expected to arrive. The increase in group size compared to the original plan reflects the growing demand for tourism in Donghae.

이번 대규모 단체 방문은 동해시가 추진 중인 단체관광객 유치 인센티브 사업의 성과로 분석된다. 시는 단체 관광객 유치를 위해 숙박, 식사, 관광지 방문 등을 연계한 인센티브를 당일 최대 20만 원, 숙박 시 최대 40만 원까지 지원하고 있다.

This large-scale influx of visitors is attributed to Donghae City’s group tourism incentive program. The city offers financial incentives linked to accommodation, dining, and site visits—up to 200,000 KRW for day trips and up to 400,000 KRW for overnight stays.

시는 벚꽃 시즌 등 계절 관광 콘텐츠와 연계한 맞춤형 인센티브 정책을 통해 단체 관광객 유치를 지속 확대하고, 지역 내 소비를 유도해 지역경제 활성화와 관광 경쟁력 강화에 힘쓸 계획이다.

The city plans to further expand group tourism by implementing customized incentive policies tied to seasonal attractions such as cherry blossom festivals, aiming to boost local spending, revitalize the regional economy, and strengthen tourism competitiveness.

#이진화 관광과장은 “이번 충북 단체 관광객 방문은 동해시 관광의 매력을 널리 알리는 계기가 되고 있다”며 “앞으로도 차별화된 관광 콘텐츠와 인센티브 지원을 통해 더 많은 관광객이 동해시를 찾을 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

Lee Jinhwa, Head of the Tourism Division, stated, “The visit by these Chungbuk tour groups serves as an important opportunity to promote Donghae’s tourism appeal,” adding, “We will continue to attract more visitors through differentiated tourism content and incentive support.”
