봄빛이 은은하게 내려앉은 어느 날,

강릉의 한 교정에 따뜻한 이야기가 스며들었다.

On a gentle spring day,

a quiet yet powerful story unfolded in a school in Gangneung.

강릉여자고등학교 제17회 졸업생 황복녀 동문이

모교를 위해 5천만 원의 장학금을 기탁했다.

Ms. Hwang Bok-nyeo, a graduate of Gangneung Girls’ High School (Class of 17),

donated 50 million KRW to her alma mater.

그녀의 선택은 단순한 기부가 아니었다.

시간을 넘어, 마음을 건네는 일이었다.

Her decision was more than a donation.

It was a gesture that transcended time—

a heartfelt message passed on to the next generation.

 “후배들이 꿈을 펼치길 바랍니다”

“I hope my juniors can pursue their dreams”

기탁식이 열린 중강당에는

선배와 후배, 그리고 학교를 사랑하는 이들의 온기가 가득했다.

The auditorium, where the ceremony took place,

was filled with warmth—

from alumni, students, and those who cherish the school.

Ms. Hwang spoke in a calm yet firm voice:

“어려운 환경 속에서도 공부하는 후배들이

경제적 부담 없이 학업에 전념하길 바랍니다.”

“I hope students, even in difficult circumstances,

can focus on their studies without financial burden.”

그리고 덧붙였다.

And she added:

“강릉여고인이라는 자부심을 잃지 말고

사회에 기여하는 인재로 성장하길 바랍니다.”

“Take pride in being part of this school

and grow into individuals who contribute to society.”

선배의 방문에 뜨거운 박수로 화답했다.

The second-year students responded

이번 장학금은 ‘황복녀 동문 장학금’으로 조성되어

앞으로 10년간 학생들에게 전달될 예정이다.

The donation will be established as the

“Hwang Bok-nyeo Scholarship,”

supporting students over the next ten years.
