전국 배드민턴 동호인 2천 명 동해 집결… ‘제16회 동해무릉배 오픈 배드민턴대회’ 개최

[시사K뉴스] 동해 — 동해시는 3월 14일부터 15일까지 이틀간 동해초등학교 체육관과 광희중·고등학교, 예람중학교 체육관에서 ‘제16회 동해무릉배 오픈 배드민턴대회’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

Donghae City announced that the 16th Donghae Mureung Cup Open Badminton Tournament will be held from March 14 to March 15 at the gymnasiums of Donghae Elementary School, Gwanghui Middle & High School, and Yeram Middle School.

이번 대회는 강원도배드민턴협회와 동해시배드민턴협회가 공동 주관하며, 전국 생활체육 배드민턴 동호인 선수와 관계자 2,000여 명이 참가해 열띤 경쟁과 교류의 장을 펼친다.

The tournament is jointly organized by the Gangwon Badminton Association and the Donghae Badminton Association, bringing together around 2,000 badminton club players and officials from across the country for competition and exchange.

경기는 20대부터 60대까지 연령대와 급수(A~E등급)별로 남녀 복식과 혼합 복식 종목으로 나뉘어 진행된다. 경기 방식은 예선 리그 후 본선 토너먼트 방식으로 우승자를 가린다.

Matches will be divided by age groups from players in their 20s to those in their 60s, and by skill levels ranging from A to E grades, with categories including men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles. The tournament will follow a round-robin preliminary stage followed by a knockout tournament.

동해시 관계자는 “전국 배드민턴 동호인들이 한자리에 모이는 이번 대회를 통해 생활체육 저변이 확대되고 지역 간 교류도 더욱 활성화되기를 기대한다”고 말했다.

A Donghae City official said,

“We hope this tournament, where badminton enthusiasts from across the country gather, will help expand participation in recreational sports and strengthen regional exchange.”
