“배움 포기하지 않았다”… 동해시 학교밖청소년 11명 학업복귀·대학 합격 성과

“They Did Not Give Up Learning” — 11 Out-of-School Youths in Donghae Return to School or Enter University

동해시학교밖청소년지원센터의 지원을 통해 학업을 중단했던 학교밖청소년 11명이 학업복귀와 대학 합격이라는 성과를 거두며 눈길을 끌고 있다.

Through the support of the Donghae City Out-of-School Youth Support Center, eleven youths who had previously discontinued their studies have achieved remarkable results, including returning to school and gaining admission to universities.

이들 가운데 3명은 학교로 복귀했으며, 8명은 대학에 합격해 새로운 진로의 문을 열었다.

Among them, three students returned to formal schooling, while eight were admitted to universities, opening new paths for their future.

이번 성과는 학업을 중단한 이후에도 배움을 포기하지 않고 검정고시 준비와 진로 상담, 맞춤형 학습지원 프로그램 등에 꾸준히 참여해 얻은 값진 결실이다.

This achievement is the result of the youths’ continuous efforts after leaving school, including preparing for the national qualification exam, participating in career counseling, and engaging in customized academic support programs without giving up on learning.

동해시학교밖청소년지원센터는 학교밖청소년을 대상으로 검정고시 준비 지원, 대학입시 지원, 학교 복귀 지원, 1:1 학습 멘토링 등 다양한 학습지원 프로그램을 운영하며 청소년들의 학업 지속과 진로 설계를 돕고 있다.

The Donghae City Out-of-School Youth Support Center operates a variety of educational support programs, including preparation for the national qualification exam, university admission guidance, school return support, and one-on-one academic mentoring to help youths continue their studies and plan their future careers.

또한 진로 상담과 맞춤형 학습지원을 통해 청소년들이 자신의 진로를 구체적으로 설계할 수 있도록 지원하고 있으며, 이러한 체계적인 지원 속에서 청소년들은 학업에 대한 자신감을 회복하고 학업복귀와 대학 합격이라는 성과를 이루게 됐다.

In addition, through career counseling and customized learning support, the center helps youths develop concrete career plans. Within this systematic support framework, the youths regained confidence in their studies and achieved the outcomes of returning to school and entering universities.

#천수정 체육교육과장은 “학교밖청소년들이 꿈을 포기하지 않고 자신의 길을 찾을 수 있도록 지속적인 지원을 이어가겠다”며 “늦더라도 포기하지 않고 노력하는 청소년들을 항상 응원하겠다”고 말했다.

Cheon Soo-jung, Director of the Physical Education Division, said, “We will continue to provide support so that out-of-school youths do not give up on their dreams and can find their own path,” adding, “We will always support and encourage young people who keep trying without giving up, even if it takes time.”

한편 동해시학교밖청소년지원센터는 교육 지원뿐 아니라 청소년의 자립, 상담, 건강지원 등 맞춤형 서비스를 상시 제공하고 있다.
