김진태 지사, 유승민 대한체육회장 면담… 2030년 전국체전 유치 의지 밝혀

강원특별자치도(도지사 김진태)는 2월 25일(수) 오후 4시 40분, 전국동계체전 개회식을 앞두고 유승민 대한체육회장을 만나 면담을 갖고 전국체전 유치 등 체육 현안에 대해 논의했다.

Gangwon State (Governor Kim Jin-tae) held a meeting with Yoo Seung-min, President of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC), at 4:40 PM on Wednesday, Feb. 25, ahead of the opening ceremony of the National Winter Sports Festival, to discuss key sports issues including a bid to host the National Sports Festival.

김진태 지사는 이 자리에서 “도는 올해 사상 처음으로 전국장애인동계체전 종합 우승을 달성했고, 전국장애인동계체전과 전국동계체전을 5년 연속 유치하며 대한민국 동계스포츠 중심지로 자리매김했다”며, “이 같은 성과를 바탕으로 강원 체육 르네상스 시대를 이어가고 있다”고 강조했다.

Governor Kim stated, “For the first time in history, Gangwon achieved overall victory at the National Winter Sports Festival for the Disabled this year. We have also hosted both the National Winter Sports Festival for the Disabled and the National Winter Sports Festival for five consecutive years, firmly establishing Gangwon as the hub of winter sports in Korea.” He added, “Building on these achievements, we are continuing a renaissance era for sports in Gangwon.”

이어 “이 기세를 이어 2015년 이후 도에서 개최되지 않았던 전국체전을 15년 만인 2030년에 유치하길 희망한다”고 밝혔다.

He further expressed, “We hope to maintain this momentum and host the National Sports Festival in 2030, which would mark the first time in 15 years since it was last held in Gangwon in 2015.”

이에 대해 #유승민 대한체육회장은 “지사님께서 의지를 밝히신 만큼 도 체육회장님과 함께 적극적으로 검토하겠다”며, “아울러 동계체전 개최지에 대해서는 하계체전 유치에도 별도 혜택을 주는 방안을 검토하겠다”고 답했다.

In response, President Yoo stated, “Given the Governor’s clear commitment, we will actively review the proposal together with the provincial sports council president.” He added, “We are also considering providing additional benefits for Summer Sports Festival bids to regions that have hosted the Winter Sports Festival.”
