The 2026 PyeongChang Music Festival Announces Open Auditions for the “PyeongChang Festival Orchestra”

– Recruiting Violin, Viola, Cello, and Double Bass Players (General & Academy Members) –

강원문화재단(대표이사 신현상) 평창대관령음악제운영실은 2026 평창대관령음악제의 개막공연(7월 23일)과 폐막공연(8월 2일), 그리고 지방 순회공연에 함께할 평창페스티벌오케스트라 단원을 공개 모집한다고 밝혔다.

The Gangwon Cultural Foundation (CEO Shin Hyun-sang), through the PyeongChang Music Festival Office, announced an open call for members of the PyeongChang Festival Orchestra to perform in the festival’s opening concert (July 23), closing concert (August 2), and regional tour concerts.

뛰어난 연주 기량으로 매년 관객들의 호평을 받아온 평창페스티벌오케스트라는 23년의 역사를 지닌 대관령음악제와 함께 성장해 온 대표 오케스트라다.

The PyeongChang Festival Orchestra, praised annually for its outstanding musicianship, has grown alongside the 23-year history of the Daegwallyeong Music Festival and has become one of its signature ensembles.

본 오케스트라는 국내외 유수 오케스트라에서 활약 중인 연주자들과 실력 있는 젊은 음악인들로 구성되어 있으며, 매년 교육 프로그램을 운영해 신진 연주자의 성장을 지원하고 교류 네트워크를 확대해 나가고 있다.

The orchestra is composed of musicians active in leading orchestras at home and abroad, along with promising young artists. It also operates annual educational programs to support emerging musicians and expand professional networks.

이번 모집은 바이올린, 비올라, 첼로, 더블베이스 분야에서 진행되며, ‘일반 단원’과 ‘아카데미 단원’으로 구분해 선발한다. 특히 아카데미 단원에게는 공연 참여 기회와 함께 각 파트 수석진과 함께하는 교육 프로그램 참여 기회가 제공된다.

Applications are open for violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Candidates will be selected as either “General Members” or “Academy Members.” Academy Members will not only participate in performances but will also receive the opportunity to join educational programs led by principal players of each section.

지원은 대관령음악제 공식 누리집(mpyc.kr)을 통해서만 가능하며, 접수 마감은 3월 22일(일)까지다. 일반 단원은 자유곡 연주 영상, 아카데미 단원은 지정곡 연주 영상을 지원서와 함께 제출해야 한다.

Applications must be submitted exclusively through the official website (mpyc.kr) by March 22 (Sunday). General Members are required to submit a video of a free-choice piece, while Academy Members must submit a video performance of designated repertoire along with the application form.
