강원특별자치도립무용단, 뉴욕 ‘강원도민의 밤’에서 ‘동행’을 춤추다

설 연휴의 끝자락, 낯선 도시 뉴욕 한복판에서 고향의 숨결이 피어올랐습니다.

강원특별자치도를 대표하는 강원특별자치도립무용단이 2월 14일, 뉴욕 디모스연회장에서 열린 ‘강원도민의 밤’ 행사에 초청되어 무대를 선보였습니다.

At the edge of the Lunar New Year season, the breath of Gangwon blossomed in the heart of New York.

The Gangwon Provincial Dance Company, representing Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, was invited to perform at the “Gangwon Night” event held on February 14 at Dimos Banquet Hall in New York.

이번 행사는 뉴욕 인근에 거주하는 강원도민들이 매년 설 전후로 모여 화합을 다지는 자리입니다. 특히 올해는 뉴욕강원도민회 회장 이·취임식과 함께 열려, 세대를 잇고 마음을 잇는 더욱 뜻깊은 시간으로 채워졌습니다.

This annual gathering brings together Gangwon natives residing in and around New York, celebrating unity around the Lunar New Year.

This year’s event was especially meaningful as it coincided with the inauguration and retirement ceremony of the association’s president, strengthening bonds across generations.

‘동행(同行)’ — 함께 걷는 길

도립무용단의 공연 주제는 ‘동행’.

멀리 떨어져 있어도 우리는 같은 뿌리를 지닌 사람들임을, 문화예술로 서로의 마음을 이어가겠다는 메시지를 담았습니다. 일곱 명의 단원이 펼친 무대는 단순한 공연을 넘어, 고향을 향한 그리움과 자긍심을 어루만지는 시간이었습니다.

The theme of the performance was “同行 (Together in Step).”

Though oceans apart, we share the same roots—this was the message conveyed through dance. The seven performers offered more than a stage performance; they offered comfort, pride, and a shared memory of home.
