동해 전천 ‘바다열차 콘셉트’ 관광시설 개장

동해시는 전천 수변공간에 기차를 형상화한 관광·휴양시설 ‘전천스테이션’과 9홀 규모 미니골프장을 조성하고, 오는 2월 11일부터 정식 운영에 들어간다고 밝혔다.

동해시 announced that the train-themed leisure complex, Jeoncheon Station, along with a 9-hole mini golf course, will officially open to the public on February 11.

이번 사업은 북평5일장 중심 뒤뜰 관광자원화 사업의 일환으로 추진됐으며, 전천 일원을 가족친화형 체험·휴식 공간으로 확장하는 데 목적을 두고 있다.

The project is part of the Bukpyeong Five-Day Market Backyard Tourism Revitalization Initiative, aimed at expanding the Jeoncheon area into a family-friendly space for leisure and hands-on experiences.

전천스테이션은 길이 약 18m 규모의 기차 모형 가설건축물 2동으로 조성된 테마형 카페 시설로, 동해안을 달렸던 ‘바다열차’를 콘셉트로 디자인됐다.

Jeoncheon Station consists of two train-shaped structures, each approximately 18 meters long, designed as a themed café inspired by the iconic Sea Train that once ran along Korea’s east coast.

시설 내부에는 카페와 편의점, 캐릭터 굿즈 판매 공간, 휴게 공간이 마련돼 있어 방문객들이 전천 수변 경관을 바라보며 여유로운 시간을 보낼 수 있다.

Inside, visitors will find a café, convenience store, character merchandise shop, and relaxation areas, allowing them to unwind while enjoying scenic views of the Jeoncheon waterfront.

시설 전면에는 기존 데크를 철거하고 길이 52m 규모의 전망형 데크를 새롭게 조성했다. 데크 중앙에는 디지털 미디어월을 설치해 야간에도 다양한 볼거리를 제공하며 수변 조망 기능을 강화했다.

At the front of the facility, the old deck was removed and replaced with a new 52-meter-long observation deck. A digital media wall at the center enhances nighttime attractions and strengthens waterfront viewing experiences.

또한 전천스테이션 하부에는 9홀 규모의 미니골프장을 함께 조성했다. 방문객은 현장에서 골프 클럽을 무료로 대여해 이용할 수 있으며, 향후 운영 여건에 따라 이용 방식은 조정될 수 있다.

Beneath Jeoncheon Station, a 9-hole mini golf course has been added. Visitors can borrow golf clubs free of charge, with usage policies subject to change depending on operational conditions.

운영시간은 비수기(11월~3월) 오전 9시~오후 7시, 성수기(4월~10월) 오전 9시~오후 8시이며, 미니골프장은 오후 6시까지 이용 가능하다.

Operating hours are 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. during the off-season (November–March) and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. during the peak season (April–October). The mini golf course is available until 6:00 p.m.

동해시는 앞서 1단계 사업으로 캐릭터 공원을 조성한 데 이어, 이번 2단계 사업을 통해 노후 전천나루카페를 철거하고 전천스테이션을 설치하는 등 관광 콘텐츠를 단계적으로 확충해 왔다.

Following the completion of a character park in Phase 1, Donghae City has expanded its tourism content in Phase 2 by removing the old Jeoncheon Naru Café and installing Jeoncheon Station.

#이진화 관광과장은 “체험과 휴식 기능을 결합한 시설을 전천 수변공간에 집중 배치해 관광 동선을 강화했다”며 “지속적인 관광벨트화를 통해 사계절 방문 가능한 대표 힐링 공간으로 발전시키겠다”고 말했다.

Lee Jin-hwa, Director of the Tourism Division, stated, “By concentrating facilities that combine experiences and relaxation along the Jeoncheon waterfront, we have strengthened the tourism flow,” adding, “We will continue developing a tourism belt to establish this area as a year-round healing destination.”
