Gangwon Province Expands Cruise Experience Program to 300 Residents

50% Discount Cruise Tour to Otaru and Hakodate, Japan (5 Nights, 6 Days)

강원특별자치도는 동해안 바닷길 활성화와 크루즈 관광 저변 확대를 위해 운영 중인 ‘속초항 모항 도민 크루즈 체험단’을 지난해보다 100명 늘린 300명 규모로 확대 운영한다고 밝혔다.

Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province announced that it will expand its “Sokcho Port Homeport Cruise Experience Program” for residents to 300 participants, an increase of 100 from last year, to revitalize East Sea maritime routes and broaden the base of cruise tourism.

지난해 체험단은 200명 모집에 약 1,900명이 신청해 9.4대 1의 높은 경쟁률을 기록했다. 이에 도는 더 많은 도민에게 크루즈 관광 기회를 제공하기 위해 모집 규모를 총 300명(도민 150명, 속초시민 150명)으로 확대했다.

Last year, the program attracted approximately 1,900 applicants for 200 slots, recording a high competition rate of 9.4 to 1. In response, the province expanded the program to a total of 300 participants—150 Gangwon residents and 150 Sokcho citizens—to provide more opportunities for residents to experience cruise travel.

이번 체험단은 초대형 크루즈선 코스타 세레나호를 이용해 5박 6일 일정으로 운영된다.

The program will operate on a 5-night, 6-day itinerary aboard the large-scale cruise ship Costa Serena.

‘코스타 세레나호’는 수영장, 대형 스파, 브로드웨이 스타일의 극장, 카지노, 레스토랑 등 다양한 편의시설을 갖춘 대형 크루즈 선박이다.

Costa Serena is a large cruise ship equipped with a wide range of amenities, including swimming pools, a large spa, a Broadway-style theater, a casino, and multiple restaurants.

일정은 5월 12일 속초항에서 출항해 일본 홋카이도 지역의 오타루와 하코다테를 기항한 뒤, 5월 17일 부산항에서 하선하는 코스로 진행된다.

The cruise will depart from Sokcho Port on May 12, call at Otaru and Hakodate in Hokkaido, Japan, and conclude at Busan Port on May 17.

도는 체험단 운영을 통해 도민 관광 참여 기회를 확대하는 한편, 참여자 만족도 조사와 의견 수렴을 통해 향후 크루즈 관광상품 개선과 마케팅 전략 수립에 활용할 계획이다.

Through this program, the province plans to expand resident participation in tourism and utilize satisfaction surveys and participant feedback to improve future cruise products and marketing strategies.

체험단 참가자는 기항지 관광을 포함한 상품가격 284만 원의 50% 수준인 142만 원을 부담하면 된다.

Participants will pay approximately KRW 1.42 million, which is 50% of the full package price of KRW 2.84 million, including shore excursions.

신청은 2월 13일부터 27일까지 롯데관광개발 홈페이지를 통해 온라인으로 접수하며, 최종 선정 결과는 3월 3일 발표할 예정이다. 해당 홈페이지는 강원특별자치도 및 도내 18개 시군 홈페이지 배너를 통해 접속할 수 있다.

Applications will be accepted online from February 13 to 27 via the Lotte Tour Development website, accessible through banners on the Gangwon Province and 18 municipal government websites. Final selections will be announced on March 3.
