원주, 중동 의료시장으로 향하다

원주시는 지역 의료기기 기업의 해외 판로 개척과 중동 의료시장 진출을 위해 ‘2026 두바이 월드헬스 엑스포(World Health Expo Dubai, WHX)’에 참가한다.

의료기기와 디지털 헬스케어를 미래 성장동력으로 삼아온 원주는, 이번 전시를 통해 글로벌 무대에서 또 한 번의 도약을 준비하고 있다.

Wonju City will participate in the 2026 World Health Expo Dubai (WHX) to support local medical device companies in expanding overseas markets and accelerating entry into the Middle Eastern healthcare sector.

With medical devices and digital healthcare as its future growth engines, Wonju is preparing for another leap onto the global stage.

두바이에서 열리는 글로벌 의료의 현장

이번 전시는 2월 9일부터 12일까지 4일간 아랍에미리트 두바이에서 열리며, 원주시는 강원특별자치도·춘천시·원주의료기기산업진흥원과 함께 강원공동관을 운영한다.

지역을 넘어, 강원의 기술력과 가능성을 함께 알리는 자리다.

The exhibition will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from February 9 to 12.

Wonju City will operate a Gangwon Joint Pavilion in cooperation with Gangwon State, Chuncheon City, and the Wonju Medical Device Industry Promotion Institute—showcasing Gangwon’s collective technological strength beyond regional boundaries.

원주 기업 18개 사, 중동 시장을 두드리다

강원공동관 참가기업 23개 사 중, 원주 지역 의료기기 기업 18개 사가 참여한다.

진단·치료 의료기기, 디지털 헬스 기반 장비, 초음파 미용기기, 인공지능(AI) 진단 솔루션 등 원주 의료산업의 현재와 미래를 함께 선보일 예정이다.

Among the 23 companies participating in the Gangwon Joint Pavilion, 18 are medical device companies based in Wonju.

They will present a wide range of technologies—from diagnostic and therapeutic devices to digital healthcare solutions, aesthetic ultrasound equipment, and AI-based diagnostic systems—highlighting both the present and future of Wonju’s medical industry.

세계 4대 의료기기 전시회, WHX

두바이 월드헬스 엑스포는 독일 MEDICA, 미국 FIME와 함께 세계 4대 의료기기 전시회로 꼽힌다.

중동·아프리카(MENA) 의료시장 진출을 위한 가장 핵심적인 글로벌 플랫폼이다.

World Health Expo Dubai is recognized as one of the world’s four major medical device exhibitions, alongside Germany’s MEDICA and the U.S. exhibition FIME.

It serves as a key global platform for entering the Middle East and Africa (MENA) healthcare markets.

전시를 넘어, 실질적 수출로

원주시는 전시 기간 동안 해외 바이어 상담과 수출 협의를 집중 지원한다.

또한 Dubai Hospital 방문, 주두바이 대한민국총영사관 간담회, 세계한인무역협회 두바이지회와의 협력을 통해 현지 네트워크를 실질적인 성과로 연결할 계획이다.

During the exhibition, Wonju City will actively support business meetings and export consultations with overseas buyers.

In addition, visits to Dubai Hospital, meetings with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Dubai, and cooperation with the Dubai chapter of the World-OKTA will help translate networking into tangible export outcomes.

 디지털 헬스케어, 원주의 다음 무대는 중동

최근 중동 지역에서는 의료기기와 디지털 헬스 기술에 대한 수요가 빠르게 증가하고 있다.

원주시는 이번 WHX 참가를 계기로, 원주 의료기기·디지털 헬스케어 산업의 경쟁력을 중동 시장에 직접 알리고 지속 가능한 수출 기반을 강화할 방침이다.

Demand for medical devices and digital healthcare technologies is rapidly growing across the Middle East.

Through its participation in WHX, Wonju aims to directly showcase its competitiveness in medical devices and digital healthcare, while building a sustainable foundation for long-term exports.
