강릉전통자수의 본령 김순덕 자수장, 2025 전승발표회 성료

1. 강릉 자수장의 ‘반세기 손끝’ 공개

강릉전통자수 보유자 김순덕 자수장이 반세기 동안 쌓아온 손끝의 미학을 전승발표회를 통해 시민들에게 선보였다. 강릉수보, 조각보, 여의주보 등 강릉 고유의 문양·색실을 담은 대표작이 전시되며 깊은 감동을 전했다.

Kim Soon-deok, holder of Gangneung Traditional Embroidery, showcased 50 years of craftsmanship at her 2025 Transmission Presentation. Signature pieces such as Gangneung Subo, Jogakbo, and Yeouijubo captivated visitors with their vivid colors and precise needlework.

2. 신사임당 초충도 자수 재해석

이번 전시의 백미는 신사임당 초충도를 자수로 재현한 작품. 오랜 경험이 만든 균형감·섬세함이 돋보여 관람객들의 큰 호응을 얻었다.

A highlight of the exhibition was the embroidered reinterpretation of Shin Saimdang’s Chochungdo, acclaimed for its refined balance and masterful precision.

3. 전수자들의 성과—전승의 흐름이 보이다

전수장학생과 전수제자들이 직접 만든 초충도·여의주보·풍속도 등 다양한 작품이 전시되며 전수가 실제로 세대 간 이어지고 있음을 보여주었다.

Works by apprentices—ranging from Chochungdo to Yeouijubo and genre paintings—proved that the tradition is actively being passed down to the next generation.

4. 전통 × 현대 디자인의 만남

자수 문양이 목조각·은장신구 등 타 장르 예술과 결합하며 강릉전통자수의 새로운 확장 가능성을 보여주었다.

Collaborations with wood carving and silver jewelry brands revealed new possibilities for blending traditional embroidery with modern design.

5. 지역 문화생태계를 넓히는 플랫폼

개인종목 공개행사가 지역 예술의 창작 생태계를 확장하는 중요한 플랫폼으로 자리매김했다는 평가가 나왔다.
