독도의 날, 셔플댄스로 하나 되는 동해시
Donghae Unites in a Shuffle Dance for Dokdo Day

동해시는 오는 10월 25일(토)부터 26일(일)까지 열리는
「제16회 동해시 평생학습 그리고 책 축제」에서
특별한 시민 참여형 이벤트를 선보인다.

At the 16th Donghae Lifelong Learning and Book Festival,
held from October 25 to 26, citizens will join in a unique, participatory event celebrating learning and unity.

 

“독도는 우리 땅” 셔플댄스 플래시몹
‘Dokdo Is Our Land’ Shuffle Dance Flashmob

 

축제 첫날인 10월 25일 독도의 날,
시민 70여 명이 참여하는 ‘독도는 우리 땅’ 셔플댄스 플래시몹이
동해웰빙레포츠타운 일대에서 펼쳐진다.

 

On October 25, Dokdo Day, around 70 citizens will take part
in a lively “Dokdo Is Our Land” shuffle dance flashmob
at Donghae Wellbeing Leisure Town.

 

시민이 주인공이 되는 무대
A Stage Where Citizens Shine

 

이번 퍼포먼스는 단순한 공연이 아닌,
시민이 직접 참여해 함께 만들어가는 참여형 학습 축제 콘텐츠다.
한 달 전 개설된 특성화 프로그램에는 당초 20명 모집에
3배가 넘는 인원이 지원하며 뜨거운 관심을 보였다.

 

This performance goes beyond entertainment —
it’s a participatory celebration where citizens are the creators.
More than three times the expected participants signed up
for the specialized training program launched a month ago.

 

화합과 애국심이 어우러진 순간
A Moment of Unity and Patriotism

참여자들은 매주 2회 이상 연습을 거듭하며
‘독도 수호 의지’를 담은 안무를 완성해가고 있다.
축제의 마지막 무대(오후 4시 50분)에는
모든 관객이 함께하는 플래시몹으로
하나 되는 장면이 연출될 예정이다.

 

Participants, guided by professional instructors,
have been practicing twice a week to perfect a choreography
expressing their determination to protect Dokdo.
The festival will culminate in a grand flashmob finale
inviting all attendees to join — a true moment of unity and pride.

 

“누구나 주인공”의 철학
“Everyone’s the Star”

‘누구나 주인공’이라는 모토 아래 기획된 이번 프로젝트는
독도의 날의 역사적 의미와 지역 공동체 의식 강화라는
두 가지 가치를 담고 있다.

 

Planned under the motto “Everyone’s the Star,”
the project celebrates both the historical significance of Dokdo Day
and the strength of local community bonds.

#김은서 평생학습과장은
“셔플댄스의 경쾌한 리듬에 독도 사랑의 메시지를 담아,
세대 간 소통과 지역 정체성을 확산시키는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 전했다.

Kim Eun-seo, Head of Lifelong Learning Division, remarked,
“Through the upbeat rhythm of shuffle dance infused with love for Dokdo,
we hope to promote intergenerational communication and strengthen local identity.”
