원주시는 지역 청소년들이 직접 제안한 정책을 바탕으로 교육도시 비전을 함께 만들기 위해 ‘원주시 청소년 교육 정책 공모전’을 추진한다.

Wonju City is launching the “Youth Education Policy Contest” to build a vision of an education-oriented city based on policy proposals made directly by local youth.

이번 공모전은 「경제교육도시 조성 기본계획 수립 용역」의 일환으로, 청소년이 주체가 되어 원주만의 미래 교육 정책을 직접 제안하는 참여형 프로젝트이다. 단순한 공모를 넘어, 청소년이 지역 문제를 분석하고 정책적 해결책을 제시하는 과정을 통해 정책 참여자로 성장할 수 있도록 기획됐다.

This contest is part of the “Master Plan for Creating an Economic-Education City” and is designed as a participatory project where youth take the lead in proposing future education policies unique to Wonju. Beyond a simple competition, it aims to nurture young people into policy participants by guiding them to analyze local issues and present policy-based solutions.

○ 지역 청소년 누구나 참여...창의적인 정책 제안 경쟁 펼쳐져

○ Open to All Local Youth: A Competition of Creative Policy Proposals

이번 공모전은 원주시 소재 고등학교 재학생이면 누구나 참여가 가능하며, 2∼6인씩 1팀을 이뤄 참가할 수 있다.

The contest is open to all high school students in Wonju, who may participate in teams of 2–6 members.

참가자들은 온라인 참가 신청을 통해 3가지 주제 중 하나를 선택해 제안서를 제출하고, 예선 심사를 거쳐 11월 8일 본선 발표대회에서 최종 정책을 발표하게 된다.

Participants must register online, select one of three themes, and submit a proposal. After preliminary screening, finalists will present their policies at the final presentation on November 8.

주제는 △진로진학 관련 교육 정책 △일자리 및 정주 여건 등 원주시 인프라 관련 정책 △‘원주시 교육도시 미래상’에 대한 청소년의 상상력과 비전이다.

The three themes are: Education policies related to career and academic pathways Policies on jobs, settlement conditions, and Wonju’s infrastructure Youth imagination and vision for the “Future of Wonju as an Education City”

○ 정책 실현 가능성도 주목...“단순 아이디어를 넘어 정책화 목표”

○ Focus on Policy Feasibility: “From Ideas to Real Policy”

공모를 통해 제시된 제안은 전문가 심사위원회의 평가를 거쳐 심층적으로 검토되며, 실현 가능성이 높은 제안은 관련 부서와 협의를 통해 원주시 정책으로 직접 반영될 수 있도록 추진할 계획이다.

Proposals submitted through the contest will be thoroughly reviewed by an expert evaluation panel. Those deemed highly feasible will be discussed with relevant departments for potential adoption into official Wonju City policies.

또한 본선 발표대회에서는 3∼5팀 내외의 우수 팀을 선정해 시상할 예정이다.

At the final presentation, 3 to 5 outstanding teams will be selected and awarded.

#김경미 교육청소년과장은 “청소년들이 원주라는 도시를 스스로 생각하고, 교육 정책의 방향을 제안하며 지역의 일원으로 목소리를 내는 계기가 되길 바란다”라며, “이번 공모전은 원주만의 교육도시 비전을 구체화하고 실현하기 위한 출발점이 될 것”이라고 말했다.

Kim Kyung-mi, Head of the Education and Youth Division, stated, “We hope this contest will encourage young people to reflect on Wonju as their city, propose directions for education policy, and voice their opinions as members of the community. This will be the starting point for shaping and realizing Wonju’s unique vision as an education city.”
