동해해수청, 주문진항제2돌제등대 개량공사 준공

동해지방해양수산청(청장 김채균)은 항로표지 시설사업의 일환으로 추진한 주문진항제2돌제등대 개량공사를 지난 9월 8일(월)에 준공했다고 밝혔다.

The Donghae Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries (Director Kim Chae-gyun) announced on Monday, September 8, that it has completed the renovation of the Jumunjin Port No.2 Breakwater Lighthouse as part of its navigational aids improvement project.

이번 공사에서는 노후된 항로표지시설을 전면적으로 개선하고, 등대의 기능적 역할에 조형미와 지역 상징성을 더한 새로운 디자인을 적용했다.

The project involved a full-scale improvement of outdated navigational facilities, introducing a new design that combines the functional role of the lighthouse with aesthetic appeal and regional symbolism.

특히, 주문진을 대표하는 오징어를 형상화한 조형물을 등대 디자인에 반영해, 주민과 방문객에게 더욱 친숙한 경관등대로 새롭게 단장됐다.

In particular, the design incorporated a sculpture symbolizing squid—a representative icon of Jumunjin—transforming the lighthouse into a landmark that feels more familiar and welcoming to both residents and visitors.

동해해수청은 이번 준공을 기념해 9월 15일부터 29일까지 등대 사진 SNS 이벤트를 진행하며, 자세한 사항은 동해지방해양수산청 누리집(https://donghae.mof.go.kr)에서

이번 이벤트가 등대의 아름다움을 널리 알리고, 국민이 해양환경과 한층 가까워지는 계기가 될 것으로 기대된다.

The event is expected to promote the beauty of the lighthouse and foster a closer connection between the public and the marine environment.

동해지방해양수산청 관계자는 “앞으로 항로표지시설을 지속적으로 개선하고, 다양한 기능을 갖춘 등대 해양 문화 조성을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”라고 말했다.
