원주시–국립공원공단, ‘꿈을 잇다: 영아티스트 장학지원’ 협약 체결

원주시(시장 원강수)와 국립공원공단(이사장 주대영)은 9월 8일(월) 오후 4시 30분, 원주시청 7층 투자상담실에서 「꿈을 잇다: 영아티스트 장학지원」 업무협약을 체결했다.

Wonju City (Mayor Won Kang-su) and the Korea National Park Service (President Joo Dae-young) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on September 8 at 4:30 p.m. in the City Hall’s 7th-floor Investment Consultation Room for the “Connecting Dreams: Young Artist Scholarship Program.”

이번 협약은 원주시 대표 교육정책인 「청소년 꿈이룸 바우처」 성과를 확장하는 의미를 가진다.

This agreement builds on the success of Wonju’s flagship education policy, the “Youth Dream Fulfillment Voucher.”

원주시는 2023년부터 초등학생 약 1만 8천 명에게 매월 10만 원을 지원해 체육·예능·기예 활동을 돕고 있다.

Since 2023, the city has provided about 18,000 elementary school students with 100,000 KRW per month to support sports, arts, and cultural activities.

올해 실시된 만족도 조사에서는 96.8%가 사업에 만족했으며, 99.3%가 계속 이용하겠다고 응답했다.

A satisfaction survey conducted this year showed that 96.8% of respondents were satisfied with the program, and 99.3% said they intended to continue participating.

그러나 기존 바우처는 초등학생까지만 지원돼 중·고등학생 시기로 이어지지 못하는 한계가 있었다. 이번 협약은 이러한 공백을 메우고자 추진됐다.

However, the voucher program had been limited to elementary school students, leaving a gap for middle and high school students. This new agreement aims to bridge that gap.

협약에 따라 국립공원공단은 매년 5백만 원씩 12년간 총 6천만 원의 장학금을 후원한다.

Under the agreement, KNPS will provide 5 million KRW annually for 12 years, totaling 60 million KRW.

원주시는 꿈이룸 바우처를 통해 발굴된 예체능 영재 중 장학생을 선발해 운영을 맡으며, 양 기관은 장학생 선발 기준 마련, 운영계획 협의, 연계 프로그램 추진, 성과 홍보 등에 협력한다.

Wonju City will select scholarship recipients from talented students in arts and sports identified through the voucher program and manage the scholarship, while both organizations will cooperate in establishing selection criteria, designing operation plans, developing joint programs, and promoting achievements.

시는 올해 안에 선발 기준과 운영계획을 마련하고, 오는 12월 첫 장학생을 선정해 내년부터 본격적인 장학금 지원을 시작할 예정이다.

The city plans to finalize selection standards and management plans within this year, select the first scholarship recipients in December, and begin full-scale financial support starting next year.
