President Trump, speaking to reporters as he returned from Scotland and headed to the White House, stated, “Tariffs won’t end tomorrow.” He added, “Our country is becoming very wealthy, and that is what we want.”
The president went on to say, “We must have a wealthy America. We are bringing in a lot of money. We are becoming very strong and very wealthy.”
The remarks came just days before the August 1 deadline for ongoing tariff negotiations with countries including South Korea, signaling Trump’s intent to maintain a tough stance on tariff policy.
