보이는 색 너머, 상상력의 스펙트럼 – 김동규 개인전 강릉 개최

강원문화재단(대표이사 신현상)은 오는 8월 5일(화)부터 10일(일)까지 강릉아트센터 2전시실에서 시각예술가 김동규 작가의 첫 개인전 《보이는 것 너머 (Invisible Spectrum)》를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

The Gangwon Cultural Foundation (CEO Shin Hyun-sang) announced that visual artist Kim Dong-gyu’s first solo exhibition “Invisible Spectrum” will be held at the 2nd Gallery of Gangneung Art Center from Tuesday, August 5 to Sunday, August 10.

이번 전시는 ‘전문예술입문지원’ 사업에 선정된 실험적 시각예술 프로젝트로, 과학과 예술의 융합을 시도한 것이 특징이다.

This experimental visual art project, selected for the “Professional Arts Entry Support” program, features a fusion of science and art.

《보이는 것 너머》는 인간의 눈에 보이지 않는 적외선·자외선 등 비가시 스펙트럼에서 출발했다. 색약을 가진 작가는 “우리가 보는 색은 진짜인가?”라는 질문을 던지며 시각 인식의 경계를 탐구한다.

“Invisible Spectrum” draws inspiration from the invisible spectrum such as infrared and ultraviolet rays. The artist, who has color vision deficiency, asks, “Are the colors we see real?” while exploring the boundaries of visual perception.

전시에는 천문학적 데이터를 재해석한 사진 16점과 작가의 시선을 담은 9점 등 총 25점이 전시된다.

The exhibition will showcase 25 works in total, including 16 photographs reinterpreting astronomical data and 9 pieces capturing the artist’s everyday perspective.

전시는 무료 관람 가능하며, 전시 기간 동안 상시 도슨트 프로그램이 운영된다.

The exhibition is free of charge, and a docent program will be available throughout the duration of the exhibition.

김동규 작가는 “보지 못하는 세계를 예술로 상상하는 시도”라며, “강원도의 자연과 천문학적 이미지, 상상의 스펙트럼이 하나 되는 전시가 되길 바란다”고 전했다.

Kim Dong-gyu said, “This exhibition is an attempt to imagine the unseen world through art,” and expressed hope that it would “bring together Gangwon’s nature, astronomical images, and the spectrum of imagination.”

강원문화재단 신현상 대표이사는 “김동규 작가의 전시는 예술과 과학, 창의와 교육이 교차하는 모범적 사례가 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.

CEO Shin Hyun-sang of the Gangwon Cultural Foundation stated, “Kim’s exhibition will serve as a model example where art, science, creativity, and education intersect.”
