만두축제 전략과 비전 공유하고 의견 수렴

Strategy and Vision for the Dumpling Festival Shared and Discussed

원주시와 원주문화재단은 ‘2025 원주만두축제’의 성공적인 개최를 위해 4일 오전 10시, 원주문화재단 신명관에서 축제 추진위원회를 열고 본격적인 축제 준비에 돌입했다.

To ensure the successful hosting of the 2025 Wonju Dumpling Festival, the City of Wonju and the Wonju Cultural Foundation convened the Festival Promotion Committee at 10:00 AM on July 4 at the Sinmyeong Hall of the Foundation, officially launching full-scale preparations.

이날 행사는 원강수 원주시장을 비롯해 박창호 원주문화재단 대표이사, 축제추진위원 등 총 30여 명이 참석한 가운데, 만두축제의 전략과 비전, 축제장 공간 구성 및 프로그램에 대한 전반적인 계획을 공유하고 의견을 수렴하는 자리로 진행됐다.

The event brought together over 30 participants, including Mayor Kang-Soo Won of Wonju, Park Chang-Ho, CEO of the Wonju Cultural Foundation, and members of the Festival Committee. The session focused on sharing strategic visions, festival site layouts, and overall program plans, while collecting diverse feedback.

추진위원회는 축제의 전문성을 강화하기 위해 시의원, 대학교수, 전통시장 상인회장, 관계기관·단체장 등 총 21명의 위원으로 구성됐다. 위원회는 연말까지 성공적인 축제 추진을 위한 다양한 활동을 이어갈 예정이다.

To enhance the festival’s professionalism, the committee comprises 21 members, including city council members, university professors, traditional market representatives, and leaders of related institutions. The committee will continue its activities through the end of the year to ensure the festival’s success.

2025 원주만두축제는 ‘통큰맛남’을 주제로 오는 10월 24일(금)부터 26일(일)까지 3일간 중앙동 전통시장 및 문화의 거리, 원일로 일원에서 개최된다.

The 2025 Wonju Dumpling Festival, themed “Generous Encounters of Flavor (Tongkeun Matnam),” will take place over three days from Friday, October 24 to Sunday, October 26, in the areas of Jungang-dong Traditional Market, Culture Street, and Wonil-ro.

올해는 축제 공간 확장 및 문화 콘텐츠 확대, 프로그램 다양화로 공감 가치를 창출해, 한층 더 강화된 모습으로 시민과 관광객들을 맞이할 계획이다.

This year’s festival will expand its venue, enrich cultural content, and diversify its programs to enhance shared experiences, offering an even more robust and dynamic celebration for citizens and visitors alike.

원강수 원주시장은 “전국 최초, ‘만두’라는 주제를 가지고 원도심 경제 활성화를 위해 모두가 노력한 결과, 원주만두축제가 2회 만에 전국적인 축제로 성장할 수 있었다.”라며,

Mayor Won Kang-Soo stated, “Thanks to the collective efforts made to revitalize the original downtown with a unique theme—‘dumplings’ for the first time in the country—the Wonju Dumpling Festival has grown into a national event in just its second year.”

“원주만두축제가 글로벌 축제로 도약할 수 있도록 추진위원 여러분과 함께 최선을 다해 준비하겠다.”라고 말했다.

He added, “We will work together with the promotion committee to ensure the festival’s leap into a global event.”
