강원문화재단, 뮤지컬 관람만족도 95%, 완벽 성료

강원문화재단(대표이사#신현상)은 2025년 강원도립극단 정기공연 뮤지컬 <갈매기에게 나는 법을 가르쳐준 고양이>(이하 갈나고)를 지난 6월 22일 원주 공연을 마지막으로 6개 지역 9회 공연, 관람만족도 95%를 기록하며 성료했다고 밝혔다.

Gangwon Foundation for Arts and Culture (President Shin Hyun-sang) announced that the 2025 regular musical performance by the Gangwon Provincial Theater Company, The Cat Who Taught the Seagull to Fly (hereafter “GalNaGo”), concluded with great success after its final show in Wonju on June 22. The production toured six regions with a total of nine performances and achieved an audience satisfaction rate of 95%.

뮤지컬 <갈나고>는 전 세계 독자들에게 사랑을 받아온 ‘루이스 세뿔베다’의 우화소설을 원작으로 강원도립극단만의 감성과 해석을 새롭게 입혀 재탄생한 작품으로 김경익 예술감독이 직접 재구성하고 연출하였다.
The musical is a reinterpretation of the beloved fable novel by Luis Sepúlveda, transformed with the unique emotional lens and creative interpretation of the Gangwon Provincial Theater Company. Artistic Director Kim Kyung-ik personally adapted and directed the production.

아기 갈매기와 엄마 고양이라는 독특한 만남 속에 ‘환경’과 ‘다름에 대한 인정’이라는 동시대의 화두를 13곡으로 풀어내며 어린이들에게는 상상력을 자극하고, 10~20대에게는 자기 정체성과 성장통 사이에서 삶의 방향을, 어른들에게는 인생 회고를 한다는 점에서 온 가족이 함께 즐길 수 있는 고퀄리티 뮤지컬로 찬사를 받았다.
Through the unusual friendship between a baby seagull and a motherly cat, the musical explores modern themes of “environment” and “acceptance of difference” through 13 original songs. It received acclaim as a high-quality family musical—stimulating children’s imaginations, guiding teens and young adults through identity and growing pains, and offering adults a moment of reflection.

커튼콜에서는 무대와 객석의 경계를 허물고, 배우들이 객석 사이를 누비며 관객과 눈을 마주치고 정서를 교감하는 시간을 가졌으며 <갈나고> 한정 티셔츠를 관객에게 증정하는 이벤트를 통해 모두가 함께 즐기는 축제의 장을 만들었다.

During the curtain call, actors broke the fourth wall by walking through the audience, making eye contact, and emotionally connecting with viewers. Limited edition “GalNaGo” T-shirts were distributed to create a festive, shared experience for everyone.

이윤지(춘천, 34세)씨는 “온 가족이 즐길 수 있는 뮤지컬이라고 하여 오랜만에 부모님과 문화 활동을 했다. 내가 스스로 날 수 있을 때까지 무한한 응원과 지지를 해주신 부모님께 다시 한번 감사드리는 계기가 되었다”라고 소감을 전했다.
Yoonji Lee (34, Chuncheon) shared, “It was described as a musical the whole family could enjoy, so I took the opportunity to attend with my parents for the first time in a while. It reminded me how much my parents supported and encouraged me until I could fly on my own, and I’m truly grateful.”

고양이를 두 마리 키우고 있는 신형욱(울진, 28세)씨는 “동해 여행 계획 중에 공연 소식을 접해 강원방문의 해 인증 할인을 받아 합리적인 가격에 관람했다. 퀄리티 높은 뮤지컬 관람으로 인해 동해 여행이 더욱 완벽해졌다”고 관람평을 남겼다.
Hyungwook Shin (28, Uljin), who owns two cats, remarked, “While planning a trip to Donghae, I heard about the show and took advantage of the Gangwon Visit Year discount. Seeing such a high-quality musical made the trip absolutely perfect.”

김경익 예술감독은 “<갈나고> 공연이 극장을 찾아주신 관객의 소중한 시간만큼 만족할 수 있는 작품이었길 바란다. 정신없이 살아남느라 힘든 하루 속에서 작은 위로와 돌아봄의 동기가 되길 바란다”고 전했다.
Artistic Director Kim Kyung-ik stated, “I hope GalNaGo proved worthy of the valuable time our audience devoted to the theater. In these hectic times, I wish this show offered a small moment of comfort and reflection.”

한편, 뮤지컬 <갈매기에게 나는 법을 가르쳐준 고양이>는 오는 7월 26일 제35회 거장국제연극제 개막작으로 초청되어 강원의 콘텐츠를 국제 무대에 선보일 예정이다.
Meanwhile, the musical The Cat Who Taught the Seagull to Fly has been invited as the opening performance of the 35th GeoJang International Theater Festival on July 26, where it will represent Gangwon’s cultural content on the international stage.
