2024 Korea Talent Award..Three University Students from Gangwon Province Honored

On Friday, December 20, at 1:30 PM, the Ministry of Education and the Korea Student Aid Foundation held the award ceremony for the "2024 Korea Talent Award" at the Government Sejong Convention Center.

From Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (hereafter referred to as "the Province"), three university students received the prestigious award in the "University/General Youth Category."

The awardees include Lee Seungmin, a Business Administration major at Yonsei University (Mirae Campus); Park Jihwan, a Content Creation major at Catholic Kwandong University; and Kim Surim, a Social Welfare major at Hallym University. Each received the Minister of Education's Award.

Lee Seungmin has demonstrated exceptional capabilities in the field of entrepreneurship education. In 2022, he led a team in the U-300 startup competition organized by the Ministry of Education, securing 6th place out of 300 teams through his idea planning, business management, and presentation skills. Additionally, he developed health monitoring apps for the elderly and dementia caregivers and actively participated in international startup programs, showcasing his creative and innovative mindset.

Park Jihwan has shown a consistent passion for film since middle school, building a strong portfolio of achievements. His contributions to the field of film studies, including research on Korean film history, earned him the Presidential Commendation. In 2021, he won the grand prize at the Korea Arts Festival and has served as the chief organizer of the Samcheok Haerang Film Festival, contributing significantly to regional art development through visual media.

Kim Surim has made impactful contributions as the deputy director of the Gangwon branch of the "Korea University Student Education Volunteer Group." She has provided academic and career mentoring to elementary and middle school students through various educational donation activities. Furthermore, she published a poetry collection, It's Too Late to Say Goodbye, and authored the book, Not a Peculiar Person but a Special One. Her works have highlighted her exceptional talent in literature and art, gaining recognition as an artist contributing to social change.

The Korea Talent Award, jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Student Aid Foundation, aims to identify and support individuals who create new values essential for the future society and contribute to community development through creativity and passion.

The selection process involved an initial review by metropolitan and provincial governments (for university/general youth categories) and education offices (for high school categories). Final selection of 100 awardees was conducted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Student Aid Foundation.

Awardees received the Prime Minister's Award (1 recipient, 3 million KRW prize) or the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education's Award (99 recipients, 2 million KRW prize).

연세대학교 미래캠퍼스 이승민, 가톨릭관동대학교 박지환, 한림대학교 김수림

교육부와 한국장학재단은 12월 20일(금) 오후 1시 30분, 정부세종컨벤션센터에서「2024년 대한민국 인재상」수상자에 대한 시상식을 개최했다.

강원특별자치도(도지사 김진태, 이하 ‘도’)에서는 연세대학교 미래캠퍼스에서 경영학을 전공 중인 이승민 학생과 가톨릭관동대학교에서 콘텐츠 제작을 전공 중인 박지환 학생, 한림대학교에서 사회복지학을 전공 중인 김수림 학생이 ‘대학생 청년일반부문’에서 인재상(교육부 장관상)을 수상하였다.

이승민 학생은 창업교육 분야에서 탁월한 역량을 보유한 인재로, 2022년 교육부 주관 창업경진대회(U-300)에서 아이디어 기획 및 사업관리, 발표 등을 도맡아 300팀 중 6위를 기록했다.

또한, 노인 건강관리 앱과 치매 관리 및 보호자를 위한 건강지표 제공 앱을 개발했으며, 해외 창업 프로그램에도 적극적으로 참여하는 등 창의적이고 진취적인 사고로 두각을 나타냈다.

박지환 학생은 중학교 시절부터 영화 분야에 관심을 두고 꾸준히 연구와 실적을 쌓아왔다. ‘한국영화사 연구’ 활동으로 대통령 표창을 받았으며, 2021년 대한민국예술축전에서 최우수상을 수상했다.

삼척해랑영화제 총기획을 맡아 지역 영상문화 활동을 통해 지역 예술 발전에 기여하며 우수예술 인재로 활약 중이다.

김수림 학생은 ‘대한민국 대학생 교육기부단 강원본부’ 부본부장으로 활동하며 초·중등 학생 대상 학습·진로지도와 멘토링 등 다양한 교육기부 활동에 힘썼다.

시집 ‘안녕이 너무 늦어버렸습니다’와 저서 ‘특이한 사람이 아니라 특별한 사람입니다’를 출간하며 문학과 예술 분야에서도 탁월한 재능을 발휘, 사회 변화에 기여하는 예술가로 주목받고 있다.

대한민국 인재상은 교육부와 한국장학재단이 주관하며, 창의와 열정을 바탕으로 미래 사회에 필요한 새로운 가치를 창출하고, 공동체 발전에 기여할 수 있는 인재를 발굴해 국가의 주축으로 성장할 수 있도록 지원하는 제도다.

광역지자체(대학생·청년 일반 부문)와 교육청(고등학생 부문)이 1차 심사를 진행하여 추천한 후보를 대상으로, 교육부 및 한국장학재단의 2차 심사를 통해 최종 100명을 선정했다.

수상자에게는 국무총리상(1명, 상금 300만 원), 부총리 겸 교육부 장관상(99명, 상금 200만 원)이 각각 수여됐다.
